Come ON, Goodsmile. You had SUCH AN OPPORTUNITY
Nendordroid-Series Kirby (Knock Off) ((I think))
I’m not a huge Kirby fan, but I am a Smash Bros fan, so when I saw this on ebay for like $13, I knew I had to get it.
Now, as you can see the box is a little beat up, and packaged upside down, which does give me suspicion that this might be a knock off after all.
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised after I opened this figure up.
Kirby comes with several accessories.
The Kirby figure as a whole, three additional face swaps, a green hat, a flaming crown, a fireball, a sword, a star wand, an additional flipper designed to hold sword and wand, and a display stand with to armatures.
Starting with the sculpt of Kirby...well, he’s mostly a round ball of pink plastic...Okay, moving on.
Kirby’s face is painted on (eyes, and rosy cheeks), the mouth is sculpted inward.
Well onto the limbs.
This is the thing I found pretty neat about this Kirby toy; his flippers and boots are in place via magnets. That’s right the limbs are free to move about the Kirby through magnets! AMAZING!!!!!
Of course with those rounded boots Kirby can’t stand without...well...the stand and armature, and there is a little peg hole for Kirby, so he can stand, jump, float, whatever.
The stand is not the tightest, unfortunately. The pegs themselves are loose, and the armature hinge isn’t very tight.
Moving on to the items!!
The green and fire crown are also held in place by magnets as well.
The green hat is green plastic with yellow paint. It kind of looks like something Link would wear, and it’s simple and nice.
The fire crown is nicely detailed. It’s got some nice metallic gold paint, with a mat white and green...eyeballs centerpiece. The fire is painted, clear orange plastic, with yellow frosted painting at the base, some red in the middle, and the clear orange plastic on at the top.
The tertiary flipper is meant to hold the sword and want. There was an issue with mine because the magnet wasn’t secured, I had to gorilla glue it into its little slot.
The sword is a very simplistic, cartoony sword, with beautiful metallic silver and blue paint. It’s quite lovely.
The wand, has a candy cane hand, and a star top. If you’ve played Super Smash Bros you’ve seen this wand.
The last two items I assumed went together, but I’m not so sure now; the fireball, and a small. clear plastic armature.
The fireball is clear orange plastic, and it’s really nicely detailed! There is a peg hole for it, however that smaller armature just doesn’t fit...it’s meant for a ball joint, and the fireball is a peg hole; they’re just not compatible. So I used a Star Wars starfighter stand for the fireball, and it worked.
Over all, this Kirby figure is a lot of fun...HOWEVER with all of the items, swappable faces, and removable limbs if you’re a very careless person, you’re going to lose much of Kirby’s body parts.

he's here!!!
I failed my Kogitsunemaru Nendodroid by losing his hand and one of his two swords, which was attached to said hand, and that hand is the only one made to grab a sword.
