i literally never post here besides reblogs but i was listening to a thing that kind of awoke my brain

something really annoys me with the fandom of queer shows, and in general those "big" disneyTV shows i love. you know the ones, the owl house, gravity falls, amphibia, those guys.

people love propping up the owl house as the pinnacle of queer representation. and yes, absolutely. but that brings the people calling any show that DOESN'T do what the owl house did "queerbait" or even lazy. us queer people are a minority and we are fighting to be heard. especially under a corporation like disney, ANY representation is good. it's empowering. to me, i don't put different value on amity and luz kissing vs sasha having a bisexual sticker in the finale. we're all doing our best, and what's important is that we all can see ourselves in media.

but that's just my take on it

I’m a bit angry at the way TNT is treating my roommate so I’m going to rant about it. Putting it under a cut just cause it’s long and not everyone wants to read a rant. but I need to get it off my chest.

My roommate who I shall refer to as R left neo the same time I did and we came back the same time.

Most of her neocash was stolen when she finally got her accounts back. But she lost two important pets one was a RN and the other an UC grey Yurble. She talked to both current owners in hopes of trading back but they’re both permies.

She brings this up to TNT because they were her pets. They tell her sorry it’s been too long we can’t do anything about it.

Then later she finds out the limit is 5 years from another worker.

-The owner of the UC had confirmed two things the Yurble has only been traded twice and they got it back 4-3 yrs ago.

-The Owner of the RNstates same time frame only the RN had been trading fodder for some time.

R submits another ticket after getting all the pets on the account the Yurble was on except the Yurble.

Tony says he doesn’t see the Yurble. She calls him out and shows the emails the hacker did when trading with the Yurble name shows him screenshots of the Yurble on the account that she had held onto. And he admits yes he does see the Yurble but he can’t do anything cause it was traded too much. She states again that no the pet wasn’t the current owner of the pet confirmed it to her. And he lastly said well he can’t do anything. So she makes more tickets and tries asking every single worker and they all give her the same thing.

Yet I was able to get my RNs and RWs one was actively being traded before I got them back. So this just seems like bullshit.

I’m glad I got some of my names. Going to let her have one and maybe get her an UC or something witb another. Just f*ck TNT. You suck.

This was the very over simillification of the situation too. It’s just rubbish. Like I do get the pets are in nice homes and it would suck for the current owner but they were stolen she has proof they were and they can see that.

I’ve been thinking about a fifth neopet for a while now. I think I’d like a Nimmo.

 But I also feel incredibly guilty about all the pets in the pound. I know they’re pixels and I’m not really proud to admit it, but I cry when I check out the pound  and I cry when I think about the discarded grundo plushie and I cry when I think about the millions of petpets that get given freely and then either donated, sold, discarded, fed to other pets.

Making another neopet while the ponds are overflowing seems so mean. I feel vain for wanting a specific pet with a pretty name.

TBH I am not as disappointed about the Advent Calender items ( hey, I’m not going to complain about free stuff :P ), as I am about the lack of new NC items. I know that the Xmas is still one week away and stuff could change over that time, but I was really hoping for a nice dress or skirt that my Vandagyre could wear, I’ve been holding onto my NC for who knows how long in hopes they released something nice for Xmas.

I like the checkered scarf though.

okay so what’s the deal with jtnt taking breaks every other week??? i mean, i understand they need a break and its an american federal holiday tomorrow, but that doesnt mean you need 3 days off. how am i supposed to enter the poetry contest when every other damn week they’re taking off on pet days? it makes no sense to me honestly. handle the things that need to be handled and plan ahead, THEN take your stupid breaks. i s2g if they dont bring back the lenny conundrum or the random contest or kq or worLD CHALLENGES OR SOMETHING amazing this week im going to walk my happy ass to their office and punch them all in their faces.

Ohhhhkay after watching that obsidian post get reblogged way too many times with certain commentary, I noticed there's somethin people just don't seem to get: 

Of COURSE TNT artists use references to draw items?? A good artist should almost ALWAYS be using a reference to draw realistically, and more often than not (surprise surprise) in a professional setting, where limited time and money are driving factors, work WILL be made by replicating directly from a photographed image. (Or were you seriously expecting somebody to perfectly draw an identifiable, very specific form of igneous rock in a limited time frame without drawing from a reference?). This is a really harmful mindset to keep actually, because it perpetuates the idea that working artists have to have some kind of realism superpowers, and underplays the VALUE and NECESSITY of using references to produce better artwork. You're getting paid and you don't have time to fuck around and draw like crap.

The reason finding that google image was interesting to me wasn't BECAUSE A TNT ARTIST USED IT, but BECAUSE I FOUND IT. There are probably 10,000,000 pictures of obsidian on the internet and I happened to stumble upon and recognize the very one a professional artist used to draw an item on a silly petsite I look at daily.

I just thought it was amusing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
