It’s been awhile. Here’s a drawing of my new Techo. Can’t say I ever imagined owning one but I love that western outfit they got way too much. Don’t know if I’ll ever render the full body picture but still pretty happy overall with this :)
What is even going on with the world building on Neopets. The Luperus has me so genuinely confused. Tavi called him a petpet, but he's clearly a Lupe. I checked the book of ages and he's marked down as a Lupe. So he's not some Lupe looking petpet variant with gigantism. Also why is he on all fours and can't talk? I get he's based on Cerberus and is considered a monster but he can't talk? He acts just like a dog too. Like you're telling me Tavi who is a kyrii, another neopet species can wear clothes chat it up with faeries and Luperus gets to play fetch like some derpy ass animal. and what about all the anthro lupes who DO walk around on two legs, wear clothes, and talk? What is this world building?! do they even know!? do they even care!? urgh my head.
Last bit of doodles and it’s a batch of relating characters. The Acara is Elias. He’s a priesty guy in training sort of dude. The next guy is his childhood friend, Leroy. A mutant Xweetok who is a prince/soon to be king/ monarch of the land Elias resides in. (Aka. My main account lol )
Leroy was a sickly non mutant child and was often taken to the local preacher, the man who took in and raised Elias, for healing. The kyrii preacher dude is immortal and belongs to my life partner. Forgot his name though xD I’ll have to ask them lol.
My trying to figure out my ghost usul, Watcher. He;s not actually a ghost but like has a connection to the death I think? Idk he was still heavily a WIP before I took my hiatus lol.

I had not only massive art block and burnout but Neopets burnout as well. The site is doing everything to just piss me off. From the constant ads, the shit about premium, ncmall species wearables. Urgh. But I have friends on the site and I love my pets. Getting a laptop soon for school, so maybe I’ll finally be able to get an ad blocker and play the site.
Still haven’t drawn much but I realized I never posted this art. This is of my gay old tansman Zafara, Herbert. I few other pieces I had already drawn that I’ll post and maybe try to doodle some sketches to get back into the swing of things.
Here’s. My take on what I would have liked for a pastel krawk. The removable spots are an interesting idea but I really feel like Pastel needs to not have anything crazy or any random markings on it. It should just be a nice base color we can use.
I think the original is supposed to be one of these things??
But even so, I still agree the base color is way too bright and not even close enough to the blue of the actual animal
They need to have better quality control on the art in general. the execution doesnt hit at all
Yeah I sort of figured it was based on a tokay gecko. I just don’t think that’s something a krawk color should be based on. You got Techos right there. And I do also think Pastel as a color shouldn’t get super complicated with markings and stuff or based on animals.
And then yeah the art itself isn’t great. The blue isn’t right. The lineart is bad, and honestly it looks more like a lava lamp then a pastel color.

Wow, I….. I don’t care for this. Someone mentioned it might could be based on the tokay gecko. I feel there’s better ways to do that. But also why base a krawk after that? You have a Techo to base off of Gecko breeds.
You could have done some like cute light green maybe?
But even if you like the base color, which is pretty, I don’t like how undefined the outline is. Makes the facial features hard to see. The eye color is pretty but it pops out way too much. And the hair/spines being the same color as the body is just lazy.
It’s still not as bad as the pastel Ruki but this isn’t great. They really did Krawks dirty this year.

okay so let me explain. so Neopets.com is run by Netdragon who has a CEO who is an AI and they recently deleted the accounts of Adam and Donna, the literal creators of neopets.com and long story short, the newbie chat on neopets.com has been the general discussion board for like 2 decades despite it being called 'the newbie chat' but one day I refresh the page and they have gentrified our home and it's called 'new to neopets' now and I'm like wat and TNT makes a post announcing there is now an official general chat which people (not me) have been asking for for years and a lot of people are so happy it's back and begin posting away on it but then a day later TNT makes up a brand new rule with no warning that we cannot dare talk about anything not directly neopets.com related on any of the boards anymore including non-neopian food and clothing (if you mention hats they MUST be hats that exist on neopets.com or ur account could literally die. this is an actual example given by a staff member in an email) and they began freezing and silencing people who had posted non neopets related things on a board called 'general discussion' which they never announced or explained the rules for whatsoever, and people only found out the rules because users began posting the warnings they received which actually explained the rules to them and people literally had to email staff to get the rules figured out and then post screenshots for everyone else to see because of course TNT couldn't do that for us themselves and then finally TNT makes an announcement that says no non-neopets talk is allowed on the general chat but then they they start freezing and warning people on the newbie chat too for posts that were made days before the rules changed and this is all because neopets wants to be 100% child friendly now except they are selling neopets.com wine glasses as merch and have held multiple events at bars you obviously have to be 21+ to go to and are encouraging players to go on Reddit, and they made a sorry mommy sorry meme tik tok of their neopets faerie characters on their official neopets.com tik tok oh and also the april fools day joke this year was about this child character from the early 2000s Nick Neopia who used to be this totally radical skater guy but is now a full grown thinly veiled Q-anon-esque conspiracy theorist who ranted about 'the globalist' which is an antisemitic dogwhistle and lets not forget the plot about staff members being brutally murdered either idc if it was years ago and so people are getting frozen and their pets obliterated for asking other players simple questions and yet there has been a board about BDSM up for literal hours while TNT is actively taking down other posts ALSO this was all after both the huge NFT and massive data leak scandals. does this make sense so far? are you following??
OKAY SO LET ME EXPLAIN AGAIN. it is now the year 2025, nearly two years to the day that the general discussion board was created. let's backtrack to two years ago in honor of TNT who also loves to backtrack! Okay, so when everyone was getting their accounts nuked for talking about literally anything, the newbie chat was known for being the problem child of neo so of course we all just kept posting on both the newbie chat and general discussion except we'd post like 'cooking my grilled neocheese sandwhich on my neostove AMA' or 'wow my neojob in faerieland sucked today' or simply posting whatever we wanted but putting 'kiko kougra fyora faerie omelette' at the end of our posts and suddenly within like 5 days we just weren't really getting in trouble anymore... weird right?? well, then a few days later everyone wakes up and the description of the general discussion board suddenly looked like this:
I like how it looks like they just covered it with whiteout and scribbled over the original description. it's not supposed to look like that. maybe they wanted to highlight it so everyone could see it was updated?? because they sure as hell to this day never once made an announcement, apologized or acknowledged this entire incident whatsoever! to this day, never explained. and while the original incident was happening, behind the scenes netdragon was about to shut neopets down with pretty much no warning because it actually drains money, who woulda thought. but dominic law bought it and things just kinda went back to normal. everyone from the newbie chat migrated to the general discussion board (now lovingly known a gendisc) We gained a ton of new regulars, we have a freakin interactive iceberg of lore, my gendisc meme page, gendiscmas, endless fun and friendship adventures okay. gendisc is even the reason dead chia started getting acknowledged. okay. so fast forward to TODAY and I'm on gendisc and I refresh the god damn page and they have gentrified our home AGAIN and it's called 'general NEOPETS discussion' now and i'm like WHAT. and like. I was taking a break from the neoboards for the first time since I was like a fetus because dang stuff was going down there okay. but I've been having gendisc night terrors every night like visions so i freakin log on. perfect timing. maybe psychic. and basically I guess the past weeks gendisc has been fighting for their life because the moderation has been tripping and boards mentioning being LGBT (especially the T) keep getting removed. Which the ban on LGBT related topics was lifted in 2020 and neo has since been pumping out pride merch and onsite wearable pride items so like what the hell?? but I guess there has been consistent derailing of any boards about being LGBT and pretty much nonstop harassment of specific LGBT players and instead of punishing the people harassing them TNT just removes the boards, usually after letting it go on for hours. so gendiscers started posting boards criticizing the response or even just making positivity posts in response to the boards that turned negative only for TNT to remove those too and even silence accounts over it. so the criticism just got progressively more angry and some gendiscers just started contacting support and TNT just basically goes 'well we remove controversial boards, we can't punish the people who are actively derailing them, posting legit hateful things and trolling, that would be too hard for us! we don't have time to check whos actually in the wrong or whos the victim!' which okay... except it's literally like the same 2-3 trolls causing every single issue so it would be pretty easy actually!!
so anyway now the freakin gendisc discription randomly looks like this:
once again, no actual announcement! just a name change, and description edit, exact same as the last debactle. and in fact they stayed so faithful to their old ways that ONCE AGAIN we only know anything because users are getting private warnings and emailing staff and then posting the emails and warnings for everyone to see. which those posts were also being removed so how are we expected to actually know?? and as this is going down regulars are popping in to post their normal boards they've been posting for years, totally oblivious because the rules were just randomly changed and enforced within a few minutes, so they'd post something random and just immediately get freakin sniped by a mod like you'd see them blip in and out of existence in what felt like seconds. and people are PISSED. I am too!!! so now we're all the way back where we started 2 years ago to the point people are posting 'in my neohome eating my neodinner' again and we're like well, back to the newbie chat! which is very funny because the entire reason the newbie chat ever was the general chat for so long was because in 2004 TNT removed the general chat so everyone migrated to the newbie chat. so like. we are in a never ending cycle here!! and it is just kinda baffling on so many levels partly because everyone on this site is like 25-40 and people have known each other for years and years and they're expecting us to talk about strictly neopets and neopets items on a site where everyone is an adult and everyone can code their own mini websites within the site about anything they want? like most of us have a not neo related petpage we like sharing around. it's just perplexing and also just a freakin crazy way to go down considering it's an exact repeat of the same scenario but with extra spite and malice for it's userbase. TNT is insisting we CAN talk about LGBT stuff, just not non-neo stuff, which makes no sense because it's specificaly the LGBT boards that are getting derailed, not 'non-neopets' topics. Do you really think there won't be harassment just because I say my neopets are gay instead of saying I myself am gay??? I have seen with my own eyes people get harassed for saying their pets are LGBT lol. and like this entire thing really does feel like a punishment to LGBT people for not shutting up. so yeah. anyway. are you still here?? are you following??? will I be back to update this post in two more years??? perhaps. in fact most likely because TNT is gunna keep TNTing as long as the site stays kicking, or even just as long as the site lays there lifeless but is yet to fully decompose
Something a little different, because I was bored. I did this totally for fun, and ended up liking the result so I thought I'd share.
Ixis are one of my favorite neopets, but they had a pretty rough transition into customization, using a body drawn with the more solidified neopets art style of the time (2007), but a head based off the original pet art from 2002 when the art style wasn't quite what we think of as the "neopets style" today. That mixed with the thicker outlines of post-customization art, the Ixi ended up looking a bit.... squashed?
I've always loved the way Claire Hummel drew ixis, and that art is usually what I think of when I think of an ixi character, so I decided to reference that look and try my hand at an edit of the official base ixi.
Asides from redrawing the head, I also fixed some little details that were bothering me a bit. The big one being the tangent between the tail and the cheek. The rest was just refining some lines and shadows.
Anyway, I hope y'all think this is cool! <3
I will ask that you not be rude to the original art. Just doesn't feel right, especially as I don't know what the working conditions were like for the artists at the time the official one was made. Thanks!

I decided to do another set of colors. I call this one Vintage.
It’s based on like that rustic rehab, distressed furniture aesthetic vibe. It’s like a juxtaposition to Pastel. Where it’s the same paint Brush but each pet has different colors. Only instead of pastel it’s dull ass old looking colors lol. Some of the outlines look janky - but I am proud of the Varwolf. Then again I had to completely reoutline it and everything so it did take the longest. The fun part is I now have a Varwolf I can easily edit.
thought you all should know that neopets is currently experiencing a sitewide bug that prevents anyone from doing nearly anything on the site because it says that none of us have gender

Fern - a nice muted dark green
Olive - I feel the name of the color is pretty self explanatory
Antique - a more vague color , sort of akin to pastel were the tones don’t have to all be the same on every species. But the same sort of feel of antique vibes. Be it the color of lace, old paper, etc.
Question time.
You’re tasked with designing a new neopets color.
The catch is this is just a simple pallet swap color. No extra rendering or markings, no wearables. (Unless names into the pet design such as the ixi and aisha collars for example)
Think like the neopet color Orange, Purple, and Brown.
You can get really specific with the colors. It doesn’t have to just be purple.
For example I’d personally want like a green that isn’t so radioactively vibrant as the basic green.
Something swampy with maybe some brown accents? Idk. Call it Bog or Marsh.

I’ve been posting so much Varwolf stuff that I didn’t even think about posting the start of me figuring out my own design for one. So here he is lol. I still have stuff I want to refine. But this is what I’m working with for now.
