Story - summarized

The ark starts to shake. Marina looks out and notices something along the surface of the Ocean of Memories. She takes a little boat out to investigate the strange phenomenon: bubbles are appearing and floating to the top of the sea.

When they pop, they show tragic memories: starvation, abuse, humiliation, war, loss... She has no idea why everything is so sad, but she wants to change it. Her brother finds her and brings her back to the ark. He tells Marina that since the Ocean of Memories holds all memories, some are bound to be sad. She asks Aeon if they could make a “Happy Ocean” project to add more happiness to the ocean and make it less boring. He readily agrees.

Marina hurries to complete her chores, and then heads to Aeon’s lab. She arrives so suddenly that he dashes to hide something. She gets him to show her his newest invention. He made her a special bubble soap that will blow happy memories.

The fireworks on the ark, going to the Ninir college and meeting the outcast students... each pop of a bubble shows another wonderful moment from Marina’s time in Miraland. She loves this toy!

Together, Aeon and Marina row out into the sad waters and blow bubbles. They watch the happy memory bubbles merge with the sea.

Connections

-The sad memories Marina sees in the bubbles most likely tie in with other Reflections and characters: the ragged girl with dry bread is Krista, the girl being bullied and her clothes torn apart is most likely Ashley, and the beautiful lady staring at the old man’s grave in the cemetery is Lilith visiting Old Hendrill.

-This story takes place after the events of Vol. 2, Ch. 3, but it’s not clear if this happens before the Diamond Kingdom event or right after.

-When Aeon pops the first “happy bubble,” it shows a scene from Marina’s Reflection Exploding Fireworks. It was the first time Aeon made a toy for her.

Fun Facts

-So far, this is the shortest Reflection in the game. You can read the whole thing within a few minutes.

-The siblings have grown so much since the start of the game: Aeon has grown more mischievous and willing to play, and Marina is finding creative outlets for her venting instead of trying to blow up the ark.
