i love your polydins hc's holy shit, do you have any hcs about everyone's insecurities and the things they're the most confident about in the relationship? (hope you're having an amazing day!)
let’s see what the ol’ head hole can come up with.
keith - the thought of not being emotionally strong enough to love them enough terrifies him. what if he isn’t capable of loving them as much as they love him? he knows he loves them so much it hurts but what it they still love him more than he loves them? what if he just doesn’t have it in him to love that much? it scares him.
shiro - bad judgement calls terrify him. what if he calls a shit order in battle and it ends up with one of them hurt just because they were following HIS orders? what if he doesn’t order lance to follow hunk like a hawk and watch his back? what if he sends pidge into a place that ends up having too many massive objects in her way? the fact that he could send them to their deaths and that they’d willingly go, no holds barred, is what makes up the bulk of his nightmares.
pidge - she overanalyzes everything. e v e r y t h i n g. was there something else in that smile shiro gave to lance? she’s never seen that smile directed at any of the others. or maybe it was the lighting. she doesn’t know because her brain goes over all the possibilities and it never shuts off. she also wonders if the others, especially lance or keith, resent her for being the resident smarty-pants.
hunk - he is worried that his lovers may be embarrassed by him. he knows he’s fat AND passionate about food, and he knows how that’s perceived. he doesn’t want to make his lovers look bad in comparison. he belches a lot and while he has no issues with his own body, he worries sometimes that the others may see him as slovenly under pressure from pretty slender aliens. because of this, he showers the most out of anyone and always makes sure there are no stains on his shirt.
lance - hoooo boy this child. this sweet summer child. he gets insecure about a lot of things, but mostly he’s concerned that his insecurities annoy the others. do they get tired of reassuring him all the time? are they sick of him needing more physical contact that the others? is he too clingy? is he not clingy enough after recognizing that he’s clingy? “i’m sorry for being sorry”
keith - he knows how far he’ll go for his lovers. he may think he doesn’t love them enough, but he does know how much he loves them. it might not seem like enough to him all the time, but he knows it’s a hell of a lot and he knows that he’d fight zarkon one-on-one for a chance to save them. he did that before at the end of season one whaaat he’ll also do silly stupid ooc shit to cheer them up but he’ll never admit it.
shiro - he’s never doubted for a moment that he loves each of his partners equally. he loves them all differently, of course, because they’re all different people, but he doesn’t value any of them above any other. he’s just as in love with lance as he is in love with keith, hunk, and pidge. and he’s a damn goner. they could ask him to jump and he’d ask how high. the boy is whipped and he loves it.
pidge - has no doubt in her mind that her boys will do absolutely anything to reunite her with her brother and father. they will bring any lead to her attention and will look to her to figure out what to do. they want her to be back with her family just as much as she does, and it chokes her up when she sees them get passionate about it.
hunk - he’s confident that he’ll always be able to keep his lovers happy, so long as they love him. as long as that love never fades, he knows he’ll be able to keep them happy and content. don’t ask him how he knows it. he’ll say it’s a secret, but pidge thinks that it’s just in his nature to make those he cares about happy. automatically. he doesn’t even have to do anything. he walks into a room and their mood goes up ten points.
lance - he’ll jokingly say that he’s confident that he’s not really confident about anything. but his true confidence lies in his ability to bring them all together. he knows how to calm them all down when they’re worked up, and all it takes is one look from him and he can get them to tuck into a cuddle pile and decompress.
