A female neotect gets a taper fade i mean becomes a high ranking, breeding female in a ceremony where her top crest is trimmed/cut in half as a sign of power. During the ceremony she wears a cape.

In the wall of the room we can see the portrait of a breeding female with flames around her head as a sign of power, you can see the trimmed upper crest in the picture. There are also two lower ranking tects reverencing her.

After doing some kind of heretical act a female neotect is banned from her clan, as an act of identifying criminals and heretics this clan (and probably other clans in the region) cut the antennae and make marks in the forehead and on the side crests. As she runs away, cuts bleeding over her face and in fury against her clan, the "lawdoers" of the clan and the three matriarchs watch her. This act was done during the day as a signal of uncommon occurrence and to make her uneasy, for neotects are not used to wander during the day.

Some weeks later the banned neotect is suffering from severe stress and depression evidenced by her eyes being surrounded by dark circles and her vomiting (it is not shown but part of her fur and crests are falling off too).

A large, elder matriarch Neotect being cared for by two subordinate males, one who is giving her regurgitated food in a bowl-like tool while the other grooms her.

Two neotects, from different ethnicities fighting each other using knives. The right one deals a fatal blow to her opponent's spiracle, the neotecton equivalent to cutting someone's throat i imagine.

I liked doing this one for its simplicity, use of shapes and values but it didnt get to the episode.

For the last piece i did for episode 15:

A herd of Teleopsids is driven into a death pit by some paleotects using fire, by the wall we can see two butchers waiting with excitement for the teleopsids to fall in the trap so they can start butchering them, further down we see a large bonfire where four matriarchs wearing ceremonial teleopsid heads as hats are waiting for the feast, something only used during such events.

A breeding female watches over the fortress in an elevated structure reserved for the high-ranking neotects. Some males are doing their own things meanwhile, such as the one in the foreground that is carrying some firewood in a travois made specially for them.

Another piece that i did that didn't get to the episode, although this one was a bit low effort lol.
