For @smlgbtqweek 2024, theme: "Twist", as in, the feelings between characters are a twisted web XD (I kinda just draw things and then fit them into themes afterwards, okay)

I got the impulse to try a less conventional pairing than my usual, since I usually draw a ton of NephNaru (with my silly transgirl HC Naru) and their little V-polycule with Umino. For MLM usually KunZoi is the more logical choice, and I've drawn them on a previous year's event (and would like to revisit them in the future more too), but the much rarer, less canonical NephJade has low-key intrigued me for a long time and I decided to give it a shot, since this pairing almost never gets any food. I hope somebody somewhere is rooting for them! Then, the reactions from the peanut gallery on the right crossed my mind, and I decided to roll with it for fun. I'm a big proship multishipper and love to see lots of different takes, and am not against any given pairing of the characters in this image. If anything, I tend to like the idea of a big convoluted polyamorous web of all the things XD

Wed Me: I’ll write a drabble about our character under the subject of wedlock -“Marry me.”

It’s out of the blue, a request that isn’t even phrased like a question, and Jadeite feels perfectly justified in staring blankly at Nephrite, and gesturing for him to continue. 

To explain himself.

To somehow make what he’s just said make more sense, because otherwise it’s. Well, Jadeite doesn’t even know what it is.

“What?” Nephrite says pointedly, sweeping fly away hairs over his shoulder. “You have to admit it makes sense. We’ve been playing the same song and dance, how many lives now? We should tie the knot. Make it official. Make it a little harder for you to break up with me next time I drop a plate.”

“There’s more to marriage than that.”

“Yeah, there’s love too, but I know you love me.” Nephrite grins, a little cocky. “And you know I love you.”

“...”

“Don’t give me that look! I know full well that putting up with all my shenanigans is a labor of love from you! Come on Jade. Let’s get hitched.”
