Six Sentence Sunday
I had a little scene in mind the other day, of Crosshair and Tech bonding, after Crosshair rejoins the Batch, by sitting in the place where some of their respective hobbies overlap: Crosshair drawing cool bugs for Tech. (I don’t remember where I got the idea of Crosshair drawing, I’m sure I read it in a fic somewhere, but I’ve adopted that idea, because it’s honestly brilliant.)
That little scene wasn’t supposed to ever be anywhere other than in my mind, but then I saw this post the other day and now… well, here’s the first six sentences. There will be… more. I think it will be just the one scene, I don’t plan on elaborating on how Crosshair left the Empire or anything in this one, but… it’s probably not gonna be as short as I imagined even just half an hour ago. Ahem. Yeah. Enjoy this bit for now, though! I’m having fun writing from Tech’s POV for once!
Tech doesn’t startle when Crosshair sits down behind him and leans against his back, only because he’d been hyper-aware of Crosshair from the moment he entered the main hold of the Marauder, and had been very careful not to react to his presence. It’s still very new, having Crosshair back with them, and none of them quite know how to act around each other. But they will relearn it with time, Tech is certain.
For now, Tech has found that treating Crosshair like he would a feral tooka has been relatively successful. Hunter had compared him to one, long ago, when the end of the war was something they merely joked about, and while many things have changed since then, Tech has found that the resemblance is still striking.
