I’m just being a big BIG nerd about the Perseverance landing
I have a NASA hoodie and I find this incredible, so I can’t keep all for myself
But my family are the only ones around, and they look at me like I’m a freak

Bookology 101: Benefits of Reading
Our body needs constant exercise and stretching to keep our heart pumping; and to maintain a healthy physique. But so is our mind. It needs to be warmed up often to keep our mental stability and enhance our brain. Most people underestimate the positive effects of reading, not only for our mind, but for our self-being. It helps in many ways that one can ever imagine; and, if you don’t have a constant reading habit, you’ll probably pushing good things away. This list will show you 8 benefits of reading extracted from personal experience and scientific facts. Enjoy!
1. Helps you gain knowledge and new information
Though in this present time we have the internet, there is no more legitimate resource than books, after all what is in the internet is in the books too, or came from books. Regardless of which genre you are reading, new knowledge is inevitable as long as you read and dig deep in it. There are endless information books can offer us, we just have to put it up, open it and read. Plus, it is much eye pleasing since you don’t exactly have to stare up at a screen for a long time.
2. Relaxes mind and eases out stress
When it is a rough day and so much is coming into your mind, and you’re about to explode because of stress, book is always there to help you out. Find some good books that matches your interest – but I will highly suggest inspirational/devotional and self-help books – they will help you divert your mind to something more pleasing and makes you go with things smoothly.
3. Reading is Therapeutic
Feeling sad? Have mood swings? Anxious? Read! There’s nothing more calming than looking up at a few pages and the classic smell of book. Personally, every time I was able to finish a couple of chapters or one, I suddenly feel happy. Books are proven to improve one’s mood and was able to help people with mild mental problems; moreover, reading is known to be the time in which one can pull out positive emotions and self-encouragements because of the contents they had absorbed from the book – peace of mind, and self-reflection is also brought out that causes one to feel uplifted just after reading.
4. Improves vocabulary and language skills
One can never enhance their communication and language skills without the help of reading. Studies have shown that people who are poor in communication and language – specifically, English – read seldom or don’t read at all. Books are rich with words and terms that is beyond to what we know, and these knowledge is yet to be discovered only when one bothers to open up a book. Reading kills down one’s poor vocabulary and lack of language competency, helping people to express themselves freely and articulately. Moreover, being well-spoken and knowledgeable will help you excel in your professional career.
5. Memory Enhancing
How long do you remember things or scenarios in your life? Do you still remember what happened to that movie you watched last month? If you’re struggling to remember things, books and reading can be a tool to help you practice some memorization and expand the drawers of knowledge in your mind. When you read a book, there are important factors that you have to remember to be able to keep up as you go along the book journey; these little mental actions are but a huge move to make you remember things more often than you do – characters, places, special events – these are just few that you have to remember when reading a book. Plus! Reading also helps you regain few memories that you could’ve forget through scenarios. Great!
6. Improves comprehension and analytical skills
Books have mysteries and meanings that needs more than just understanding to be able to figure out; one must comprehend and analyze – the deeper form of understanding. It is really overwhelming when you read a book and solve cases and problems yourself even before you reach the chapter where it is solved. Like, that was so cool! And being able to analyze the book well can help you point out its strengths and weaknesses, and critique on how well-written it is.
7. Makes your mind open on real-life matters
In relation to number 7, as you analyze and comprehend on the events in the book, you may apply it in real life too! Great! There are events in life that needs deep evaluating and preparation rather than just being impulsive and not having a second thought. Reading can influence you to analyze things first before deciding on which is to which.
8. Entertainment
Well, you’re probably thinking, how can reading be entertaining? To answer that, here’s a question; have you read? If yes, then, good for you. And if not, you should try, for books are great mind-diverting tools. Entertainment doesn’t always rely on T.V. shows or hilarious internet videos. The word ‘entertainment’ actually means “the action of providing or being provided with amusement or enjoyment.” And reading can be enjoyable especially when imagination and a creative mind is used. Reading can bring you to somewhere you can never go to, or introduce you to people you can never actually meet. Plus! Reading is much eye pleasing for there are no radiating computer screens to look at, lol!

BOOKSALE
wala akong paboritong author.
I know what you're thinking! hahaha.... basta!... it's a nerd thing.
