20 OOAK Pet Peeves I made for the 2026 Project For Awesome nerdfighter art perk. Made from upcycled upholstery samples.
March 20, 2025 - Day 274
Love my nerdfighter art as usual.
Alas, poor Pizza John.
I turned him into one of my Yoricks! Happy pizzamas.
Happy Project for Awesome!! If you don’t know, the Project for Awesome is an annual 48 hour charity livestream run by John and Hank Green that benefits Partners in Health, Save the Children, and many other organizations! This year I was able to participate in the @nerdfighter-art perk, where I made some wood slice ornaments that will be randomly distributed among other artwork by the community to those who donate and choose the Nerdfighter Art perk!

It's

The 2021 Project for Awesome is fast approaching and I for one am getting excited. This year is my first time sending in a nerdfighter art perk, which has always been one of my favorite. Tune in to the livestream on February 12-14th and keep an eye on the website for updates and links to donate!
It’s time to get ready for the 2019 Project for Awesome (Dec. 6-8)!
If you’re new here and aren’t familiar with the Project for Awesome, the basic premise is this: People make videos supporting their favorite charities, the community votes for its favorites, and the funds go to the organizations with the most votes (as well as two nonprofits chosen by John and Hank). Most of the money is raised through the Indiegogo campaign, where people can make donations in exchange for cool stuff. One amazing perk we like to do is the Nerdfighter Art perk. This is where you come in! Here’s what you need to know if you’d like to contribute your art to the P4A:
Ideally, you will be making 15+ items and shipping them to Missoula, Montana to be distributed to the people who claimed the Nerdfighter Art perk! (If you have something cool you want to make but can’t make 15, we still want to read your proposal! A few of something super cool is still great.)
We’re looking for small, easily shipped items. This can include knitwear, small plushies, small drawings and paintings, digital art prints, etc. Nothing super big or super fragile.
The art does not need to be nerdfighter themed, but it is highly encouraged!
The estimated worth of the art should be about $25-$30 because the perk will be sold for $40. That’s not a strict amount, just something to keep in mind when making your proposals.
If you’re interested, please email [email protected] by October 10th with an example of what you have/will be creating and what quantity. A picture of it for us to see would be extra helpful when sorting through everyone’s submissions.
We will let you know if it looks like a good fit for P4A and provide additional information as soon as we can, giving you a good amount of time to create your pieces. We’d like you to ship them to us no later than November 20th.
If you want to see some examples of nerdfighter art, scroll through the P4A Tumblr and the Nerdfighter Art Tumblr.
We can’t wait to see what you create!
