🎙️which one of your fics would you like someone to make a pod-fic of?
I really like podfics as a medium in general, so I'm always very flattered and happy when people offer to podfic my works. If I had to pick one though, I'd probably elect no grave can hold my body down. I adore that fic, and I'd love if it was available to an even wider range of people!
💥find your least kudos'd fic - say something wonderful about it.
Exempting my CSS formatting guide fics - my lowest kudosed work is an old, unfinished fic I decided to post up to AO3 (on anon, woops) since I was never going to finish it, but hey, I wrote about 70k for it, why not share it anyway. I didn't really post it for any attention, so I feel quite fine with it having barely any kudos (to date, it has 23, which is about 21 more than expected). I really do still love that fic! I think my grasp on original characters in it is really good, and the internal voice for the main character is also, I think, done quite well.
🕯️was there a fic that was really hard on you to write, or took you to a place you didn't think it would take you?
My fic in any universe, which was a collaborative effort with the amazing Lilly_Penwielder for an event, was harder to write than I thought it would be, but in a good way: I'd never really written a collaborative fic before, so it was a new experience for me to trade off writing different sections of fic. I always tend to struggle a little when I get challenged on where I think a story should go, but the back and forth Lilly and I got to do was great. Definitely taught me a lot about what is required for collaborative writing. It was a very positive experience, and I'm very glad I did it!
🤍what's one fic of yours you think people didn't "get"?
Ha, two come to mind; no grave can hold my body down, and Widowmaker tend to be the most misinterpreted fics of mine. The former, because people don't always seem to grasp that the relationship between Shouto and Touya is supposed to be dependent, full of guilt and misplaced blame, and generally fucked up. The weird energy borne of extreme shared trauma is the point. For Widowmaker, it's more the general themes that go over people's heads. I made no attempt to hide that most of the characters are morally grey; there is no good guy and bad guy, because hey, we as people contain multitudes. More people than I would like seem to offer Rei unconditional support and 'hero' status anyway. Not really the point of the fic, but eh, some people are always bound to only read at the surface level. It doesn't bother me too much anymore, though it definitely used to.
