Since it remains my primary hyperfixation, once again I must apologetically answer all of these in relation to TOOWH. Huge shocker, I know!

25. Share your favorite line

I think I'll go ahead and share a line that's been patiently sitting and waiting to be written into the overall story for a while. This one is going to be incorporated into Chapter 35, in a scene that has been marinating in the brain juices for a long time:

“How much air, realistically speaking, do you think is actually down here? Are you going to strangle me to death for the last lungful?”

I just like how it scratches at my brain, idk.

26. Share your favorite detail

Hmm, hard to pick, since I have essentially taken Exandria, shaken it down for parts, and made up whatever I felt was necessary to make up, so there are a lot of intricate little things I enjoy. But I'd probably go with Molly's tarot cards; similar to a lot of other CR fic authors, I saw fit to make a lot of them up or adjust them rather than stick to the actual Major Arcana.

Some are world-relevant, and others are painfully personal to Molly himself. In addition to coming up with names and designs for all of them, I've made sure to name more than a few chapters after said cards, because of ~thematic relevance~. It's been very fun!

27. Share a piece of lore you made up for the story

Again, I have made up a lot, but one area I just completely said "Nope, my sandbox now" is the Claret Orders. I have ignored pretty much everything laid out in TNEOL and just done whatever I wanted. Changed the personalities of the named Bloodhunters, shifted up how training works, details about the Bane, the whole works. I'm especially proud of my overhaul of the location of the Orders themselves. If you aren't adding extra body horror to a story with a Bloodhunter protagonist, what's the point, right?

Welp, not counting the extensive edits I now need to go and do (I have a chapter or two that definitely need to rewritten), Act 1 (of 5) of my crit role longfic is done, slotting in at a nice 179,852 words.

I do feel rather proud of myself for that. Here's to the next 179,852 🥂

I answered this one in more detail here, but TLDR: I was lucky to come up with a pretty perfectly fitting title for TOOWH right away, so I luckily didn't need to have any other names in reserve!

♻️A scrapped idea for your current WIP

I actually had to dig up my earliest notes on TOOWH for this! I've been borderline religious about keeping all my outlining notes consistent.

I haven't shared a ton about the plot of TOOWH to many people, but a major part of it is facing the ramifications of Vecna having been running around on Exandria for the last 34 years. The biggest part of that is the cults dedicated to the other Betrayer Gods. In the main fic, the Nein do face two of them: the Angel of Irons cult for Tharizdun, and my invented cult for Vecna, but in my first outlines, I had a cult to Asmodeus as one of the other major players: according to those first outlines, the Nein would have faced them, then the AOI, then Vecna's cultists.

I had some notes on how it would link to the increased anti-tiefling sentiment in this au (poor Molly and Jester) but ultimately I didn't really want to spend a whole act of the story focusing on it, when I can communicate that message via asides in those characters' POVs anyway. I also figured it would clutter everything up too much in the long run, so I abandoned the three-cult plotline for two instead.

Personally, I'm glad I changed it: the outlines I have now flow far better as a single, coherent story, and other cultish stuff I can focus on in a way that delves into things a bit more complex than just "these are the bad guys, kill 'em". It makes the whole thing more fun! And considering one of the Nein themselves is part of a cult to a Betrayer God (and fun fact, I am not talking about Yasha), I get to focus more on that, than on an unconnected foe like Asmodeus.

🧭An alternative title to your/ one of your WIP(s)?

Ooh, this is a hard one. For my current main wip, it was one of those rare circumstances where the perfect name just drops itself into your lap: I came up with 'The Only Ones We Had' (TOOWH) shortly after the idea itself, and it fits the whole concept perfectly.

I haven't thought much about alternative names for it, but I do use a lot of tarot card motifs throughout for Molly (both real and invented) so something along those lines, maybe. Or whatever fancy-schmancy thing related to reincarnation that I could come up with. Or a single word-ism like 'Retrograde'. Probably one of those!

(They all kind of suck in terms of fitting the fic, though, so I'm personally glad I got the title nailed down so fast.)

(I do feel the need to clarify THIS version of widomauk comes from an AU where everyone sucks at least 30% more than they do in canon. TOOWH Caleb, who is an outlier and should not have been counted, sucks about 400% more.)
