Nerdy!Cas. Closed Roleplay.

Castiel isn’t very known in school. He keeps to himself and he stays out of people’s way. He doesn’t get bullied or picked on. He’s just there, mixed in with the hundreds of other faces. The only way people know him is if he tutors them or have talked to him when he helps with some of the staff around school, or he’s known as ‘that really smart and weird kid with the trench coat’. He’s not exactly antisocial, but he’s not really social either. If he’s talked to, he’ll be polite and talk back, but otherwise, he just stays quiet. He also doesn’t take anything from anyone. If someone has a problem or tries to insult him, he doesn’t hesitate to snap back. People think just because he’s quiet that he won’t say anything, but that’s not the case. He only has one friend, and that’s Charlie Bradbury, and he loves her to death. They’re pretty close and hang out all the time, and she happily lets him tag along with her and Dorothy when they go out somewhere. So no, Castiel isn’t very known, but he pretty much knows everyone. Though quiet, he’s very observant of people. Right now he’s sitting in his favorite class, English, and listening to the teacher attentively, taking notes every now and again. Once she finishes with the school work, she starts talking about a project that they’re going to be working with partners on. Cas sighs, because usually when he’s partnered with someone, they expect him to do all of the work. She starts calling out names. “Castiel Novak and Dean Winchester.” Cas almost audibly groans at that, but refrains from doing so. Dean Winchester is quite the character, and though Cas has never spoken with him, it’s hard not to know who he is. He’s the most popular guy here and most girls tend to throw themselves at him. Everyone knows Dean Winchester. Cas stands up, getting his pencil and notebook and walks to the back where Dean sits, sitting down in the desk beside him with a huff.

The Winchesters and Cas are having a Lord or the Rings-marathon and Castiel gets totally absorbed by the movies. Sam tells the angel that the movies are based on books and that Cas can borrow them from him if he wants to read them.

That night Castiel spends reading the trilogy plus Silmarillion, but he hasn't got enough of the story so he manage to use Sam's computer to go online where he finds fanfiction and he gets completely lost in the stories. He doesn't even notice when Sam enters the room. When the tall hunter sees how wrapped up Cas are, he just smiles and backs out of the room.

The following days Castiel spends all his free time reading Tolkien's books and fanfiction, he even starts to write some fanfiction himself on scraps of papers he find. Cas is a bit embarrassed about that and tries to hide the scraps. He found a place on the internet where you can learn Quenya, but since they only have one computer he doesn't really got much time to learn it.

Dean is getting annoyed by the angel's new interest, stating that he has gone from a nerdy dude with wings to an über nerdy dude with wings. But Sam stomps on his brother's foot when he say things like that and just smiles as Cas, tells him to keep doing what he likes. Secretly, Sam thinks Castiel's new found geekiness are adorable and he'll do anything for the angel to keep doing things just for himself.

One afternoon Sam approach Cas, looking slightly embarrassed, with his hands behind his back. He tells the angel that he has something for him. Castiel looks up at the tall hunter with a confused frown, but it's soon turned into a bright smile when Sam shows what he had brought for Cas. In one hand he has a book about learning Quenya that he had been told by the shop clerk should be good and in his other hand he has two notebooks. Sam states that one notebook is for his Quenya studies and the other is for him to write his fanfiction in. Castiel looks a bit shocked that Sam knows about the fanfictions and stutter out an apology about his bad writing. But Sam hushes him by placing a finger over his lips and tell him that he thinks his writing is good and that he would like to read a full story some day. Cas blush slightly and promise to show Sam some of his writing when he feels like he have written something good enough.

When Sam walks away, Castiel is smiling, feeling a great warmth inside. A warmth he haven't really felt before and he isn't sure what it is, but he knows it's pleasant and that it has something to do with Sam Winchester.
