N4-73 (artificial human) and the unnamed protagonist (normal human. kind of) who tells the story are both hot-headed, stubborn and absolutely-totally-unutterably dead set on getting their way at all costs. Put them together and it's like an immovable object and an unstoppable force. They're both so freaking terrible and it's a delight to write about them. =D

The obstinacy! The conflict! I love it! 8D

Branching out a little here to a still unwritten wip, We Are We Are Monsters, in which the main trio and the chaotic evil (but still a wonderful, healthy guardian) or a parent are all stubborn idiots who would probably self destruct in each other’s company if not for the love of their other, far more soft and responsible lawful good parent.

I'd also recommend reading up on Buddhism if that's not a religion you're terribly familiar with. Looking at the story through that lens reveals all sorts of symbolism that might be glossed over otherwise.

@neriad13 you bet I’ll be reading a lot about Buddhism, there are some papers on google scholar about Buddhism in medieval Japan, so I’ll surely check that. I have a book about Humanistic Buddhism, that I got during a trip to Buddhist boarding  school. But I only have a passing familiarity with this religion.

I wanted to be a comedian when I was a kid, so hearing that you had a good laugh and were properly entertained really brings me joy. :D

Except for the strips at @heathen-go-lucky​, there’s a lot of extra stuff on my blog, most of it under renard’s tag (here it is in chronological order). I will eventually reblog it on the comic blog when the story is done, but you can check it out now if you want more silly shenanigans. There was also a non-humorous Stricture fic I was writing, but I don’t know when/if I will return to that.

So, I'm at my local library, where anything that might be ever so sliiiiiightly pornographic in nature is blocked by the wifi here. It usuallly blocks out all of Tumblr (I can scroll through the dash but normally can't go directly into blogs). Except for today, where it's letting me into your blog alone. o.0
