#with an annoying humming ballast and everything.#the streetlights now are all LEDs with such a glaring blue cast. u_u #except like. a few parking lots. and the streetlight my brother got from somewhere and set up in his backyard.#see. I was the bugs kid. always running around holding spiders or whatever.#my brother was the electronics kid. showing off sodium vapor bulbs and befriending the NYSEG guys to get ceramic insulators.#as kids we made our own lightbulbs with jars and steel wool and 9V batteries. maybe don't do this indoors btw #we only started the floor on fire once. :)

happy pride month

brushed the cats. they love this. got enough fur off them to stuff a coat. I use a big comb with fine teeth to make sure Chessie has no tangles, and also to clean the slicker brush a few times during the process.

so I was going over Chessie one more time with the slicker brush while she sat in the window, with the comb all piled up with fur sitting on the sofa. Allen laid down with his forearms over the fur blob. started purring.

I apologized when I went to move it out from under him so I could tidy up. he bit down on the fur blob instead. like, big chomp, wrinkled up the skin under his eyes, REALLY wanted to keep that fur. but no. that's gross, bud. leggo. thanks.

wall hanging for my brother! naturally dyed with cute, osage, madder, and knotweed. first forray into naturally dyeing things in my kitchen, using a combination of dye techniques and modifiers. machine pieced, hand appliqued and quilted; roughly 15” square. excited to do way more of this kind of thing :')
