The whole "nerves being severed and rearranged" thing is wild to experience.
Currently I have a spot along each incision that, when touched, registers the touch as happening in the nipple.
(Mind you, the respective nipples are each over an inch away, fully numb, and still shrouded in thick scabs.)
This isn't surprising. It's expected to permanently lose erotic sensation in the nipples after this type of top surgery (double incision with free nipple grafts) because the nipples are fully removed, resized, and grafted back on in new locations. But some guys report that long term, their scars become a new erogenous zone. Because bodies and nerves are fucking weird, man.
Anyway, it's not surprising but it sure is startling.
Especially when I flop down on my bed, feel a weird jolt, and think OH NO WHAT IF MY NIPPLE JUST FELL OFF?
It's fine. I just bumped myself in the chest.
