Now having seen Mark's cut content, I want to throw my two cents into the ring. It's clear that Mark, Lixian, Marcus, Rachel, and Nervly all put a lot of time and effort into that. We don't know for sure (although I can't say I disagree with the speculation) why YouTube cut the segment, but it's a downright shame. I hope they've heard his fanbase loud and clear though.
And on a side note: After this all went down yesterday, I couldn't help but think how much I would love MatPat to chime in here. His videos about YouTube as a platform are always thoughtful and insightful. Here's hoping we'll get a Game Theory about this whole mess soon.
Huge props to Mark, Lixian, Rachel, Marcus, and Nervly! The segment was awesome. The horror is such a staple of Mark as a creator. It was how he became known, after all. And the fact that YouTube cut it shows just how little respect they actually have for their “poster child.”
