The NetOps, Dolly and Alicia, send their Navis into the terminal between them. After a more than rough day, it's time to unwind with a bit of a friendly competition. It's a lot more fun to have a little bit of a spar than to get nearly flattened by haywire construction equipment. The name of the game is King of the Hill! It's a dash to the center of the arena to claim the control point! It's a bit more of a spectacle with more players, or even full teams, but Siro and Fidi understandably wanted to go and rest at home after all of the construction nonsense.
Crescendo materializes in the arena first, casually strumming her guitar. She dashes up across a small bridge and over to the left sector. The Navi ducks down next to a large set of speakers aimed toward the control point. Seems that this game is willing to give its participants a few extra resources. Cres peers around the speaker, eyeing PotionMan as he crosses behind an alchemist's shelf. So it's not a HUGE arena... Four corners and four platforms connected to the center. Crescendo focuses her strumming to summon another speaker, this one sitting next to the control point. If she plays this smart, she can try to blast PotionMan off of it. The woman ducks behind the larger arena speaker as she hears a bottle break open nearby.
She peeks the corner again. Nothing coming in...? Crescendo hustles onto the bridge to the point and hops onto the cover. Not seeing PotionMan just yet, she tries to summon another speaker aimed toward the point before a toxic fog interrupts her with a coughing fit. That must be the glass she heard breaking.
"Greetings, my friend. Fancy meeting you here." PotionMan smashes the summoned speaker with a DrillArm. "I hope you weren't planning to need that."
"I brought other plans! Dolly! DualProcess!"
"Cannon, in! GeminiLaser, in! Download!" Out in the physical world, Crescendo's operator slides the chips into her PET.
Crescendo aims the head of her guitar at PotionMan. One blast, one laser! Pow, byeem! Both shots ring true, knocking PotionMan to the side.
PotionMan makes a quick recovery roll and gets back to his feet. He steps onto the control point. The virtual announcer calls out that his capture has begun. He swings his cloak open and chucks a potion over at Crescendo.
Cres decides her high ground is worth keeping and decides to just tank the hit. She aims her guitar once more. "...Heh. Half as long, twice as bright, right? Dolly, gimme two more shots!"
"Bubbler and ConcreteShot, go!"
"Get ready for these, PotionMan~!"
"I'm quite prepared, I assure you."
Alicia calls from the other side of the terminal, now. "BigWave! Download~"
A hefty pickaxe appears in PotionMan's hand as he swings it out. He slams it into the ground, sending a massive shockwave forward. Crescendo's cover platform crumbles beneath her. She falls right in the path of the shockwave, taking heavy damage.
Crescendo looks at the timer in the sky. Three seconds to get PotionMan off the point... Nope, not happening. She laughs to herself as she sits up.
PotionMan summons a chair with style and flair, setting it down on the point and calmly sitting upon it. The announcer declares his victory.
Crescendo gets to her feet. She claps for PotionMan's win.
"You did excellent today my friend. I'm proud to have you as my ally!" The wizard-like NetNavi approaches for a handshake, which Crescendo accepts.
"Good fight, PotionMan!" She smiles brightly. "Nice moves!"
Because I have an amazing sense of priority, I drew my NetBattler character’s NetNavi, BoosterMan.EXE! The partner of Jet Kaylum, local fifth grader and aspiring mad inventor, his scrawny frame belies a powerful punch, courtesy of his built-in rocket thrusters!
Still getting a feel for roleplaying his personality, but he and Jet have been a blast to play in NetBattlers! If you like the Megaman NT Warrior anime, I would definitely recommend trying out the NetBattler tabletop RPG!
