Great job Rookie Divisions in the 2017 Winter Games shooting league!  Here are some highlights of those final matches that closed out this year's league:

Prone Air Rifle Rookie Red Laney Lee finished the league at the top with a top score of 187 in week 2.  Melanie Laflin was second, shooting a 176 in week 3 as her highest score for the league.  Third place was claimed by Cadence Zellmer who shot a high score of 170 in week 3.  Both Maximillian Montowski and Elliot Miller-Rhees found their best marks in week 1, shooting 144 and 145 respectively.

Blue Beau Henneman had by far the best day in week 1, shooting a 141, which was also the best score of the group. William Ames came in second with a strong last two weeks, the best of which was a 131 score in week 4.  Hunter Godgson took third place, starting out best in week 1, shooting a 110.  Dawson Housworth also shot his high score in week 1, a 108 and Natalie Housworth had a terrific week 2 score of 123.

White Leading the group, Cole Schneider's week 1 score of 101 was his best. Emma Miller-Rhees had a great day in week 1, just behind Cole with a score of 100.  Miles Housworth, in third, made his best marks in week 2, shooting a 97. Asher Greenhagen had a great week 2 score of 104 for his league high and Emily Hodgson's climbed steadily week after week to accomplish her best score of 78 in week 4.

Standing Air Rifle Rookie Frank Ravenswood had a strong start. Both weeks 1 and 2 were his best, shooting 163 both times.  He overcame adverse weather for a good portion of the league, while shooting outdoors. Jesse Clark found his sweet spot in the middle.  In week 3, he shot a 122 and then followed it up with a 121 in week 4, showing nice advancement in just the few months since the Kick-Off League.

February's Monthly Matches brought us up to 118 total league registrations in 21 matches spread across 2 Countries and 10 States!  And, with 10 months left to go in the league, we plan to fill the map this year!

March will bring in final competitors vying for the title of Spring Champion in their discipline, which is automatically awarded to the best shooter of the quarter.  Each month contestants shoot to push further up the League of Champions Leaderboard and eventually earn Grand Champion.

Congratulations to February’s Pistol winners and to those of you who advanced this month!  Here are some of this month’s pistol match highlights:

Rookie 10 Meter Air Pistol & 25 Yard Precision Pistol Marco Prozzo is the first on the board for two new pistol matches added to the Monthly Matches in February.  In Rookie 10 Meter Air Pistol, Marco scored a 174 in 20 shots and in 25 Yard Precision Pistol, he registered a 274, including a 99 on his slow target!  Right now, Marco stands alone on the leaderboard.  If you want to give yourself a challenge, try out 10 Meter Air Pistol, or 50 Foot Precision Pistol's big brother and see how you compare.  

50 Foot Precision Pistol William Smith shot a 223 2x, improving his x count by 1 over January’s score and sitting on top of that 50 Foot Precision Pistol this month to remain in first place on the League of Champions leaderboard, aligning himself for taking Spring Champion, as well.  

Free Pistol In February, Dan Ide shot 28 points over his January score in Free Pistol.  Nice improvement Dan!

The results are all in, challenge period is over and the first round of Winter Games winners have been decided!  Thank you to all of you who shot with us this year!  While our shooters begin entering their week 6 shoot off scores due 3/15, let's celebrate our Air & Smallbore Rifle Match Winners!  Congratulations!  Here are some of the highlights of their past week of league shooting:

Standing Air Rifle With his best score of the league, Wesley Shumaker sneaks past Kennadi Barker and takes first place, shooting a 284!  Kennadi shot her best score of 283 last week and holds second place just 2 points behind Wesley.  She finishes off with a fantastic 54 X count!  Nicholas Young had a strong second half of the league.  His 258 was his high, shot last week, and his week 5 was just about as good, giving him a solid hold on third place.  Kennadi Barker takes the high junior and Dan Ide is our high senior.

3P Air Rifle Kennadi Barker is looking good at number one, finishing up with her high score of 287 12x in week 5!  She also takes high junior.  Jeff Schneider had his best score last week, a 276 10x.  He is our second place shooter and high senior.  Josie Clark takes third place, and finishes off week 5 just shy of the 265 13x high score she shot in week 1.

Prone Jeffrey Walters had his top score in week three, a beautiful 397 21x.  Across the 5 week span, he varied by only 2 points. That's some fantastic shooting.

3P Smallbore Rifle Trent Hering adds to his pile of bling with another first place win.  He had shot his best score of 286 in week 1, but was only a point shy of that mark in week 5, including a high standing target of 95.  John Cuntz had a high score of 280 for the league last week!  He won the tight race between himself, Wesley Shumaker and Matt Haggstrom, taking second place.  Wesley, who had a high of 282 last week, shot well in week 5, too, and beat Matt Haggstrom by 5 points to claim third.
