MUSIC: Two little excerpts from CliffTones -- yes -- RING-tones I make for friends. I always said that computers would make both playing of & the listening to, minimal music uninteresting. Why? Simply because, by and large, minimalism is so utterly, much like the ubiquitous urban concrete and rectilinear grid, so utterly dehumanized and mechanical. (But, of course, just grinding it out via a bit of simple math is fun. It's the actual energy wasted playing it by otherwise highly talented ensembles that I find offensive.)
