Chemo Question
I’m looking for people who live on farms who have had chemo, do you know anyone who might be will to communicate with me? I’m trying to determine how they dealt with the extra risks that come with close contact with animals during an immune-compromised period of time.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in January, had a double mastectomy in February. The cancer was removed and the lymph nodes were clean, but my oncologist is asking me to consider 4 rounds of chemo. The problem is that I live on a chicken farm and despite best efforts, there’s a lot of dust connected to chickens which makes me a risk for netropenic fever, pneumocarnii pneumonia and histoplasmosis (chickens). Not to mention dogs and cats...
