This was Lincoln Tops which I dyed using nettles (mordant: alum). I picked a massive bunch of nettles, roughly chopped them up, boiled for and hour and left to cool, then strained off the next day. It seems to work best if you simmer the wool in the dyebath, then leave to cool in it overnight/for 24 hours. It produces a yellowey green. When I’ve removed the wool from the hot dyebath, I’ve gotten much duller beige tones.
