hi!! I absolutely adore your blog and was wondering if you knew any interesting mantids? im looking for other types of mantid but praying mantises seem to come up way more than any other kind of mantid (i love praying mantises too! they're wonderful but i want to learn about some less popular kinds!)
I guess I’m not sure what you mean. Praying mantis is a common name for all mantises because of the way their raptorial front legs make them look like they’re praying, although some people argue that name is specifically for Mantis religiosa, or just those in the family Mantidae. So you’ll have to be more specific about what it is you’d like to know about! If you’d like to browse species yourself, I’d recommend checking out this page that shows lots of species in the order Mantodea worldwide.
