Especially here,” Jade says, “I knew I was going to see you on Friday, but I wasn't sure if we'd have a chance before then to…hang out.” Kit’s posture uncurls slightly, and she shakes her hair out of her eyes. It makes Jade want to touch it– something about the scruffliness appealing, and she can almost imagine the slide of it between her fingers, the idea of the tickle of it against the webbing making her shiver. “Elora said she had a guest but I–” Jade feels suddenly stricken at the thought, and her eyes go to Elora who's watching her with barely hidden amusement and obvious assessment.

Network Connectivity Issues by @acre-of-wheat is truly astounding in that makes my brain melt with yearning sadness (is this underrated? I mean it couldn't be more highly estimable in my eyes at all ever but...)

The Other Side of Eternity by @evodevo-geekmonkey is such.... ahsdhdgahah if that makes any sense (it doesn't)

Beautiful's eyebrows shoot up, and then she laughs a little, and it scrunches her nose up, makes her brown eyes narrow with happiness. “I really, really do,” she says. “Oh,” Kit says, and her lips feel tingly under her touch, “that's nice.” Beautiful hums her agreement, and Kit matches her tone this time. Beautiful smiles. So many smiles, and all for Kit. “I have more questions about that,” Kit says, “For later.” “Of course,” Beautiful says, “Whenever you'd like.” Whenever she'd like is a big promise, and Kit stores it away carefully, afraid to put too much weight on it, to find out it might crumble.
