The highly trained wildlife keepers at Reteti Elephant Sanctuary (@r.e.s.c.u.e) work to comfort rescued elephants who have been orphaned or abandoned by the wild herds that live near the Namunyak Wildlife Conservancy in Northern Kenya. Elephant calves are orphaned or abandoned as a result of a variety of instances that include poaching, man made wells, drought, human-wildlife conflict and natural mortality. Reteti's goal is to rehabilitate these calves and return them to the wild herds. The keepers were recruited from the local community and are deeply devoted to caring for these animals.
