Writetober day 21: trapped
NH just grinned as he surveyed his little trap. Of course, he could break out at any moment he chose. The Eldritch was just curious as to who even tried an endeavor like this.
It is surprising that it even worked. I'll give them props for that.
“Don't worry monster. You're not going anywhere."
NH's eyes narrowed. The man that stepped out looked related to his Ava. That meant nothing of course since he was already aware of her family status.
So the woman was pregnant when Ava left? Still, the boy looks too young to know anything.
He chuckled. “Well, that depends. You have to buy me dinner first.”
The man smirked as he pressed a button. All of a sudden, all of his energy just left him. The Eldritch's eyes widened as he went to his knees.
My, Ava would yell at me if she saw this mistake.
“See, we looked into it. While this may not work on the other two. You are arrogant enough to look at your prison." He sounded confident. It only irritated NH that he was starting to remind him of his sister.
The eldritch gritted his teeth but kept up his smile. "Well said, sister complex. Though you might come to regret this."
His jailer glared as he pressed another button. A shot of pain encased the eldritch but he was able to bear it.
“What do you know!? You're the one who tore my family apart! With you gone my sister could have a life now!"
NH chucked at how naive this man was being. It was true, the trap is well constructed but It wasn't perfect. He could be freed from the outside.
I almost feel sorry for the kid. Though that isn't gonna change the outcome.
“Oh, I am patient. Though you may know now, my magic could never work on Ava. Still, I have no doubt she is gonna come. That girl couldn't resist a challenge if it bit her." He took a seat in his cage. He had no energy left and after a time he wouldn't even be able to hold his form.
He trusted he would be out eventually.
The man just grinned as he grabbed a chair. The area seemed to turn into a garden. "Time works differently here. We will have a long time to go before your gone for good. By the time we're done, the world will be new."
NH looked up almost accepting this outcome. He wasn't giving up, there was just nothing he could do at the moment.
So time moves slower here. Still, it's quite a shame. I didn't want to lie about coming back, but it seems I'm gonna be a bit late. Hold up the fort while I'm gone. You better have some interesting stories when I get back, partner. I would expect nothing less.
