Alright so I know that it's a huge question but I was wondering if you had any tips for moving house? I've never done it before so I don't know how hard it will be for me but at least my family will be there
Disclaimer: I’ve never done it before either. Well, I helped with other people’s moves, but I never moved myself.
First of all, I found you this guide from How to Grow the F Up’s blog. It describes how to pack and move all of your stuff. (As you might have guessed from the title of the blog, there’s swearing. A lot of it.) It’s written for young adults who leave the familial nest and don’t have their parents there, but you will ! Nice. They’re probably a lot more knowledgeable about this than I am :’)
Um, let’s see. If you have to take apart furniture, keep the directions to build it back up along with any bolts, screws, ect, in sealed enveloppes. One enveloppe per piece of furniture.
Keep all your important paperwork in a folder if you don’t already do that.
Pack all the stuff you think you will immediately need in your new place in one bag. (This includes clothes, hygiene stuff, stim toys, headphones, phone, keys, medication, or even a book or two … Everything that’s vital to you. You might not have access to the boxed up stuff for days or weeks.)
Take breaks ! Drink a lot of water ! Don’t hesitate to isolate yourself if there’s too much noise, moves can be noisy. And good luck !
