i can't stop thinking about the coincidental(?) parallel of sophie being preyed on and groomed by a much older man as a teenager and hort, the guy her age who hits on her for the entire series and never takes no for an answer, growing up, getting employed as a professor at the school for evil, and immediately getting into a relationship with one of his first year students

when you say you don't like felurian do you mean you don't like her as a person or as a character?

Well, I hate her as a person and dislike her as a character. I suppose she’s an interesting villain, but (and I don’t reread her parts often) but her morals and motives weren’t really explored much. Literally the Ctaeth has way more development than she does, despite having more screen time. I thought in the book her part was far too long for a character not fleshed out enough, and Kote spent too much time telling her part. 

I thought the Ctaeth was a far more interesting character, and while I understand why Kvothe didn’t spend more time with it, I would have loved that instead. Felurian, for the most part, is there to fulfill a sexual fantasy, and her magic and speech, which were so cool, weren’t really explored as much as they could have been (which again, I understand, 16 year old boy’s perspective). 

Also, he’s in the fae realms and I totally wish he had explored more instead of just having sex all the time (well, most of the time, he did make the shaede thing, which again, more cool than sex). 

So, uh, both.
