rained in.
never-ending-ideal liked for a starter.
It pays to keep an eye on the news, really, but Shiki found little need to mess with the television in the apartment, so she never did. So when the first drops fall from the overcast sky she's utterly unprepared, without even her jacket to protect her from getting completely soaked. While the pedestrians around her take out umbrellas or shield themselves with magazines, she's forced to duck into the first place she can find, on the corner of 1st and Olive.
Rain patters lightly on the overhanging cover of the bus stop, the noise almost drowned out by the sound of the cars at the intersection. Her boots splash in a puddle and a droplet from the edge of the overhang nearly gets her in the eye as she steps inside, turning her gaze skyward from the shelter of the roof. If the storm doesn't pass soon, she supposes she'll just walk back while it rains from her little excursion into the city. Not being drenched is preferable, but really, she doesn't care all too much. At the very least, she's wearing her laced boots today.
It seems another bus won't be arriving for a while. For such a busy place, the bus stop itself is oddly unoccupied, though that's probably due to the absence of a bus for another good hour. Now, the only two sitting on the bench are herself and a boy with striking red hair, who Shiki finds herself staring at almost immediately without even attempting to hide it.
...But no; he's definitely not who she thought he might be, though the two appear uncannily similar... in appearance alone, anyways. The boy in the bus stop across from her holds himself completely differently from her temporary roommate of one month. It would, in addition, be impossible for him to be who she was thinking of. The resemblance, however, is enough to cause her gaze to linger on him a little while longer.
