Summary:
It's all because of the damn rain. When a small, scrappy stray kitten shows up at Rana (and Neve's) door, what are they supposed to do? Dock Town is full of strays, its nothing new, but this particular stray seems to have claimed Neve, despite her or Rana's protests. aka Neve and Rana accidentally adopt a cat and steadfastly do not talk about their relationship.
