The weird things that bring happiness
Much like recieving a letter from yourself from the 7th grade when graduating from school, finding my old drawings always cheer me up. And always among them I can find my gaming diary from a game called Neverdaun 8:bit.
One night a friend of mine called me up on msm and asked me to try the game, exactly 2 years ago. And on the next day after derping around the game we created a guild that would become one of the biggest guilds in the game:
Ordo Yggdrasil
If any of you know anything about Norse mythology you'll propably know this reference. Our guild was a lawful neutral faction with the purpose to protect our gigantic tree we had built. Therefore we were good guys, and our guildmembers were very friendly towards eachother. As we grew in size we made pacts with other guilds, neutral and lawful, and in the end our guild had control over 16,5% of the in-game world called the Grid (and 30% was unconquerable, major cities and instances and such).
But just as things were becoming sweet, my friend who had managed the guild had to stop his gaming for some time. I tried to keep the guild alive for some time but me and my friend knew that this boat wouldn't float. So the guild was disbanded and not too much time later the game went under heavy updating, and is still under construction.
Now and then I stumble to this little diary about two friends who built a community based on loyalty and friendship, and ever so often to the forums our guild had. And so I've wanted to revisit the Grid for a long time. Hopefully the day will come soon.
Also these stumblings drive me to watch and read Fairy Tail, it too reminds me of the feeling we had in our guild. No other game has been able to recreate the feeling, and propably never will.
But the day I hear the game gets out again, I am going to create a new guild into the game. Not Ordo Yggdrasil, nothing can replace that guild. This one will be a rebirth of the tree, and a rebirth of the guild.
Seed of Yggdrasil, maybe.
