Yayy okay here are some random fun facts.

Under the cut because this could be long

Knacks and names refresher before I start because I will be referencing them

While all units end up forming little gangs, just because of the nature of Units, but Unit 895 took it to the next level when they were at school together. They spent every possible second together, sometimes ending up late to individual classes because they liked to walk each other to class.

They're incredibly protective of each other. Like, almost obsessively so. If you so much as look at one of them funny you have the rest squaring up. Even Bertram pulls out his scariest looking robots for the task, even though he was usually the one getting looked at funny. Mina was the scariest for this. She's a swordfighter and generally quite athletic (a bit of a Thaddea type), so she was always ready to square up for one of her siblings. She's very much the defacto leader of their group.

Took very quickly to the 'siblings' part of the oath because of their innate protectiveness. Calling each other 'brother' and 'sister' within a few months. Jupiter was the first to properly commit to it.

Absolute chaos machines. Teachers hated to see them coming in their little pack. They started sign language classes the moment they started school (because their brother Simon is deaf), so they had their own 'secret language' to communicate in. It helped with communicating over long distances for prank planning and cheating on tests. They had to be watched very closely, especially as their flunecy increased and they evolved from having to sign two handed to being able to understand each other while signing one handed.

Things really changed for them after Rosie went missing. Though they had been living in different places for a few years, they were still a matched set, and now one of them was gone. Maybe forever. It was less of an outward change, and more of an inward feeling of something missing that made things just... not as easy as they once were. This feeling is what led Lloyd to take the placement in the Wintersea Republic. It wasn't quite the same without Rosie.

Their loyalty trial involved them being dumped in the forest to fend for themselves (after a year of wilderness survival training. It was disguised as an exam for that class and then they were abandoned. Will cover this in my big bang fic). Mina earned the nickname 'Bear' for chasing away a bear that was going to hurt them. It was highly traumatising for all of them, but they passed yay :)

They're all very close, but they had their little inner cliques. Jupiter, Bertram, and Rosie were a trio, Gawain and Mina both being weapon-users paired them together, Angela and Simon bonded over vehicles, and Lloyd and Katie have an epic hide and seek rivalry.

This is a hedacanon I've formulated with Tj / @/odbuoyjemmity, but they used to hang out in the Whinging Woods constantly. It was like their own little clubhouse. Even the trees got used to them after a while. They got up to... less than advisable activities in there. Often involving a liquor only known as 'Rocket Fuel' that tasted exactly like it was named. They were really buying cheap spirits and drinking them straight. By eleven smokin' herb and drinkin' burnin' liquor. It was unwise but they were all overachieveing and stressed.

They liked to play tag and hide and seek in the woods. Shameless promo for Tj's fic in five years time that he wrote for me about said whinging woods activities. It's one of the best fics ever and everybody should go read it it's hilarious.

Angela's lastg name means wind and Rosie's one means lost :)

Katie's name is a reference to Kate Sheppard, who was the face of New Zealand sufferage. She's on our $10 note!

Simon's deafness is uneaven. One ear is worse than the other. He almost completely can't hear in his right ear, where he has a cochlear impant, and on his left he can hear muffled sounds, which is mitgated by a regular hearing aid. He primarily uses sign to communicate, though. Especially since his siblings learned it.

Mina's married to a woman named Peggy, and they have two kids together, Helen and Jason. They're the only Unit 895 second gens besides Jack. Angela has had a few long term partners but none of them stuck, and Simon has been dancing around various boyfriends and girlfriends for probably twenty years, they swear he has a new one every time they speak to him.

Everyone with a unitsona (Nevermoor sona basically I believe) hit me up bc my maniac unitsona Evangeline needs some friends, and enemies. And a unit. Her knack is, basically witchcraft, my official decision I made right now at this very moment is that she can channel the power of forgotten gods into spell craft and potions. But don’t worry 80% of her potions just get you high as a kite my dude. And she’s pan so if anyone wants to wife her she is in fact 100% open to all. Maybe

You can ABSOLUTELY ask about Angela yes!!! Paragraphs will be kinda formatted like fun facts ig not completely structured.

Angela Ventus, or "Angie" or "Ange" as she is often called by her siblings, is the third ranked member of Unit 895, and her knack is that she's a pilot! Her favorite thing to fly is biplanes like this one!

She flew one for her show trial in a fashion very similar to Hawthrone with his dragonriding trial. Lots of flashy tricks and releasing colored smoke and stuff. The Elders were extremely impressed by how well she flew, and she's only improved with time.

Nowadays, she's a Wing Commander in the Nevermoor Air Force! Now she flies fighter jets most of the time, but has learned how to fly a bunch of other planes during her time in Wunsoc. She's part of the Free State's version of the Blue Angels, so a lot of her time is dedicated to practicing or touring. Her codename is "Star Cluster" after the birthmark on her cheek that looks like small stars, and how she can get very close to the other planes with a lot more ease than other pilots.

She's been in a couple long term relationships, but none of them have really lasted. She doesn't mind, though. She has a good job, good friends, and good siblings to have her back.

Her and Rosie were very close as kids. The whole Unit have very loud personalities but Rosie and Angela both had an ambition that the others didn't have. They had dreams, sure, but Rosie and Angela knew what they were going to do, and how they were going to get it done. Angela saw her birthmark as a reminder to shoot for the stars.

She's also a big risk taker, almost to the point of her own destruction. Sure, she thinks things through somewhat, but she's willing to go higher, fly faster, and go for longer than any other pilot. She pulls out of steep dives after the last second, sometimes clipping the ground slightly. She's always pushing for more and more dangerous stunts, even if she's unsure if she can actually pull them off.

Her father was a pilot who used to take her up in his biplanes when she was a kid. After taking an interest in flying since she was very small, he began to teach her and discovered that she was a complete natural, she had a knack for it.

I think awhile back me and Tj talked about maybe her being Sumati Mishra (Anah's patron)'s patron, because I think it's revealed in Silverborn that she's air force. Either way they probably know one another
