The first hug they share is not even a full embrace, but it still makes Stede's chest warm up with the closeness and camaraderie of it, those things he knows must be normal between friends and that he never shared with any of his peers.

They are up among the stars, the joy of getting to see another day making them seem brighter, and the moment smells like the salty breeze wafting up from the waves, and the smoke of the fire of a well done fuckery, it smells like the leathers of the clothes Stede is wearing and like the faint lavender still clinging to his own clothes that are now adorning Ed's body.

It's brief and exhilarating, and it makes Stede wonder, what will the next day with his new friend bring?

The second hug they share comes weeks later, weeks that feel like a lifetime, it's a bit awkward, impulsive on Stede's part, hesitant at first on Ed's, and Stede almost regrets it,

" It's good to have you back."

Ed had whispered, late at night, right at the door of Stede's quarters, and there wasn't any other way to answer that, but putting his arms around Ed's shoulder, pulling him closer.

When Ed finally relaxes, gives in, doesn't push away, he does so with a breathy giggle and a pat to Stede's back. That's all Stede can hear, accompanied by his own pulse rushing in his ears, his foolish heart threatening to grow wings and break free from his chest, deafening enough to quite the sound of the waves crushing against the hull of the revenge.

Ed hums then, Stede lets out a sigh at the warmth shared between them.

The hug is over too soon, but it's still perfect, more than he could dare to hope for and it makes Stede wonder, can they really be okay after all?

When Ed hugs him when he walks into the kitchen, where Stede was getting their breakfast ready, Stede has lost count of how many times they have found themselves in an embrace like this, and it never gets old, it never stops being as sweet.

Ed kisses Stede's forehead, a sign, usually, he is about to move back, but for whatever reason, he doesn't now, so Stede tightens his arms around him, Ed's lips are soft where they are still pressed again his skin, the fabric of the shirt he is wearing is rough under Stede's grip. One of Stede's hand reaches for Ed's hair, it's silky to the touch, more grey and white than black these days.

Ed rocks them side to side and Stede forgets all about breakfast, and the world outside the window, and it all makes Stede wonder, how can his heart fit all this love he feels inside of it?

OKAY!! This dream was so cool and I kinda wanna share my absolute nonsense theory!!

I definitely think this dream has something to do with Lucifer being the eventual villain and the impacts it’ll have on the shadowhunter world. HOWEVER: this leads the question: how? And why is Kit saying it’s Ty fault.

A really old shadowhunter theory is that Livvy is the one who will get possessed by Lucifer and honestly I’ve always supported that and I think it’s plausible. Out of any character, Livvy is probably the easiest to posses.

Okay I think possess might not be the right word since she’s a ghost? But I think Lucifer being able to control Livvy would be a really interesting concept and I think it could be likely, throughout GOTSM we see that Livvy has a very increasing fragile mind set, we even see her talk about possibly possessing Mina! Even so, we know that Livvy DOES in fact have a Ty to the living world as well (Ty, since he messed the spell up). Thisss would 100% let Lucifer do stuff behind the scenes and easily mess with the TWP cast.

This also leads back to Kit saying it’s “his fault” in the dream like sequence, as it quite literally is Ty’s fault if he does posses Livvy (since ya know he brought her back).

I have a lot of other theory’s as well, since we know that Livvy’s ritual failed, maybe Ty accidentally opened some kind of pathway into the human world?? (This also kinda links back to the fact that the pathway COULD be Livvy…)
