~*~ Kaisa's zanpakuto had been drawn and she had been standing her ground. In a split second she'd gone from being ready to attack to being pinned against a wall. Emerald eyes were wide with surprise and her face went white as a sheet. She'd not been expecting anyone to intervene or even to be stopped. Kaisa's focus wavered and her breath caught in her throat.

Being pinned was something she wasn't particularly fond of. It went along with her dislike of touch. A cold panic had set in, draining her face of color as she realized she was against a wall and there was someone pinning her to it.

The color of green caught her attention and the voice that shouted 'no' had taken that moment of panic and had it calm in a matter of seconds. She was still shocked, but Kaisa realized that it was to protect her. If it hadn't been to protect her she wouldn't have been able to come back to reality as quickly.

"Please let go." Kaisa said softly. Her voice wavered the slightest bit as she was coming back. "You could've gotten hurt trying to protect me."

The way that Yoruichi’s backstory is left blank, and the way I’ve chosen to fill it in, allows me to bring in a completely different point of view than almost any other canon muse would. That lets me sometimes invoke my own interests, and sometimes prompts me to go learn about new things to try and meet her level. It’s a fairly constant push and pull, and I find it satisfying as it means I can often innovate and shift focus within one muse. I know it’s really not everyone’s cup of tea, but it suits me well!

There are lots, but I’ll give three—they’re by not necessarily the most important or my favorite, but they are the first that occur to me. Yoruichi’s first thread with @mysteriousshopkeeper was quite important for setting up a lot of things, from Yoruichi’s default relationship with the Urahara Shōten to introducing the Aifōn, which has greatly simplified narrative travel and other things. (It reduces overhead a lot like universal translators do in sci-fi, to make a comparison). Yoruichi’s first thread with deivorous was the first time (but by no means the last) where she faced much pushback of any kind, and it’s sort of tempered her responses going forward. And the thread where Yoruichi went out to buy makeup with @catnippp​‘s has always struck me as oddly endearing.

As of yet, I don’t think I’ve really been afraid of approaching anyone. I’ve had some cases where I’ve delayed, either looking for a good opportunity or for something interesting to come along, or haven’t gotten around to it because of other things on my plate. I’ve also had cases where I’ve tried and things don’t quite go as I imagined or might like. But it’s usually possible to try again, you know? We can really only do our best. I’d hope that nobody is afraid of approaching me either for the same reasons.

For graphics... It’s got to be in the neighborhood of 100 to 200 hours so far, with no end in sight. Before I officially started up, I spent a solid week (7 days) working on icons for about 10-14 hours a day just to have an initial stockpile. I’ve since started reworking those to my current standard, and also have a lot more to create (to the tune of around 200% more) to build a full library for all of Yoruichi’s panels. So at the end of the day, it’ll probably have been like 500 hours all-up, and possibly more if more projects occur to me.

Tomoe hates being the person in front of house, dealing with whiny, indecisive humans who can’t make up their mind as to what candy they want, or get over how expensive it is, or worse try to insist the Shōten sold faulty product and then had the audacity to try yell at her.

But apparently it’s ‘a very important part of being human’ (Kisuke’s favourite counterargument to get her to do what he wants) to learn to deal with these losers. Doesn’t mean she needs to be polite.

Mostly she just kicks her feet up and reads stuff while they dawdle around and only bothers to pay attention to them when they finally decide to hand over invisible money by tapping a magnetic piece of plastic on a beepy little machine. Humans are so weird.

This time, however, the person who enters the doors is definitely not the run of the mill candy buyer.

“Oi,” She draws attention to herself, “The hell do you want. Kisuke didn’t say he was expectin’ shinigami.”
