I really like to think that Captain 3’s relationship with Callie, Marie, and Cap’n Cuttlefish runs so deep that no words need to be spoken.

Becaus no matter how much older they get, Captain 3 is still Agent 3. They’re still the kid of the Squidbeak Splatoon. Deep down, they’re still the young kid they picked up to save The Great Zapfish the first time.

I think the reason why I’m saying this now is because I’m imaging Cap’t 3 (at least mine) just resting their head on Callie or Marie’s shoulder. They’re taller, and maybe even a bit bigger her now, but they still want to rest their head on her shoulder. No words needed, but she can feel the “I need a hug… and please tell me everything’s going to be okay…”

For Cap’n tho… I can see him also being supportive/someone Capt.3 can go to when needing help/advice. But not in the “let me cry in your shoulder” way, but more in a “It’s okay to cry squiddo, lettin’ it all out shows how strong ye’ are!”

I dunno, maybe this is just me writing head canons w/o even realizing it. But Captain 3’s just my favorite agent yk?

So 87,000 new irs agents sounds like a lot.

Hmm, I wonder how that compares to the number of agents in other federal agencies.

Damn! Seems the number of new irs agents is significantly more than the number of agents in every other federal agency I could think of.

But, wait, how many agents does the irs have already? Maybe they somehow need more new agents than those other agencies have because they are currently much smaller.

Fuck, they are already the biggest.

They are literally looking to more than double the size of seemingly the largest federal agency, one which largely deals with American citizens who made math errors when figuring out how much money the government gets to steal from them.

Oh, and also a federal agency that just a few years ago had a scandal for targeting people with one specific set of political beliefs. And no one was ever fired or demoted or really faced any consequences for that scandal as most of the media pretended it didn't exist long enough for people to move on to the next thing.

There is no possible way I can see to not interpret this move as a huge fuck you to Americans in general and conservatives in particular. Anyone who says anything else is lying, either to you or to themselves.

I have an offer from a new agent whose agency has been around 5+ yrs (& has more senior agents),but their website isn't THE MOST informative/pages still say 'under construction'. What markers can tell me how well new agent can rep a ms? Agency sales? Senior agents' experience? Other things that I can ask the agent?? V excited abt offer but want to make sure i'm not their throwaway practice author ^_^"(i queried them based on QT but didn't wonder these things then...)

I think sales are important! Perhaps indulge in a one-month subscription to Publishers Marketplace to see if you can glean anything that way (or get a friend to log on for you if they have a subscription!).

There’s nothing wrong with being a new agent but I’d for sure ask, what is the story with the agency, do they have a lot of books in your category, does this newbie have a “mentor” kind of deal, will other agents be helping -- how do they handle contracts and foreign rights? I’d also ask if you can speak to other agency clients, if this particular agent doesn’t have any yet.
