New Billy and Michael
Tonight Thomas Hazelby will debut as Billy in Billy Elliot the Musical in the West End. Like Elliott Hanna he starts in this role just being 10 years old! This is what he says about himself in his bio:
“Hi, my name is Thomas Hazelby and I’m 10 years old. I live with my mum, dad and sister Maya in Doncaster. I started dancing at the age of three at my mum’s dance school, Hazelbiz Performers Academy. I was lucky enough to win my first national award when I was five at the British Championships, and since then have won lots of regional championships and bursaries. Before auditioning for Billy I trained with Miss Hatton on the Royal Ballet School Associate programme. The best day of my life was when I was offered the role of Billy Elliot. I was so excited and determined to be the best Billy I could possibly be. My favourite hobby is football, and I support Man Utd. Before joining Billy, I played for South Kirby Knights FC. I also played for Norton Junior school cricket team and love going home to visit my teachers and friends. I like playing Minecraft with my best friend, Jack, and watching Marvel superhero films, Wolverine is my favourite! I’d like to thank the fantastic team at Billy who have supported me and helped me to achieve my dream. I dedicate my performances to my family and friends and thank them for their love and support, and for always believing in me.“
Together with Thomas starts a new Michael, Nathan Jones:
“Hi my name is Nathan and I am 11 years old. I live with my mam Lisa, my dad Grahame (an ex-miner), my sister Charlotte, my brother Rhys and my dog Gizmo. I attend Highfield Middle School, near Newcastle. Whey aye man! I am a regional black belt karate champion, 2nd Dan, and a Scottish Nationals Open Kick boxing champion. I forfeited my place at the world championships in Italy to follow my dreams of being in Billy Elliot. I was ecstatic when I was told my dream was to become a reality and I was to join the cast. I want to say a big thank you to my best buddy Adam for his support, my dance teacher Miss Laura from Marron Theatre Arts for the extra coaching and a huge thank you to everyone at Billy for believing in me. I dedicate my performances to my family – love you.“
Good luck to both! Break a leg and enjoy the show!

That is so awesome (and confirms rumors I heard before...). I wish Mitchell an awesome time in London and a long and healthy extension of his run as Billy. Break a leg tonight, Mitchell!
New Billy joins the cast
The cast of Billy Elliot welcomes Bradley Perret who will become the 35th boy to play Billy Elliot in London. He comes from Juan les Pins, France, and is the first French-born boy to play the title role.
This is what he says about himself in his bio:
"Hi my name is Bradley, I’m 11 years old and I live in the south of France with my mum Karen, dad Henri and my sister Lea-Rose.
I started dancing at the age of five at L’Ecole de Spectacle. I especially loved dancing Michael Jackson routines. Since then I have performed many times at the Palais des Festivals, Cannes, and recently won second prize with L’Atelier (dance school) in an international modern jazz competition. I first tried ballet with the Jakobson Ballet School in a Swan Lake workshop in St Petersburg, Russia.
My mum suggested that I audition for Billy Elliot and after training and call backs I was absolutely thrilled to be asked if I would like to come to London to play the role of Billy and make my West End debut in this amazing musical.
I would like to thank the artistic team at Billy who have brought out the best in me. I would also like to thank the fantastic house parents, teachers, chaperones and all my friends and family for their love and support. Finally, a special thank you to my teachers in France. I am very lucky to have you all; it is a dream come true!"
Congrats, Bradley! Break a leg and enjoy your run as Billy.
Tonight Elliott Hanna will walk on a West End stage as Billy Elliot for the first time - and he is only 10 years old! He could have the longest Billy run ever :D and his name is perfect.
This is what he says about himself in his bio:
“Hi, I’m Elliott Hanna, I’m ten years old and I live with my mum, dad and my little sister Imogen. Since the age of four I have been training at Nazene Danielle’s Dance Dynamix. I started with breakdancing and soon became interested in other styles of dance. I have had some amazing experiences; at age eight I was the youngest ever to win the ISTD Janet Cram Modern Theatre Award. I have also gained the title of national champion at The Hall of Fame in Las Vegas and finished in the top three of Sky 1′s Got To Dance Series 3, both as part of a duet. I like making cakes and playing badminton with my nan, football and spotting fancy sports cars in London.
I was excited about auditioning for the role of Billy Elliot and when I was told I had the part I couldn’t believe my ears. I wish to thank my mum, dad and all my family for their love and support, Miss Nazene for all the wonderful opportunities – I couldn’t have asked for anyone better. Finally all the Billy Elliot staff for helping me live the dream. I’d like to dedicate my first performance to my sister Imogen.”
Break a leg tonight, Elliott! And congrats for getting the part!
At the Audition - Ali Rasul
New Billy!
The London cast welcomes a new Billy - Ali Rasul will have his first performance tonight. Break a leg, Ali! Have a great show :)
This is what Ali says about himself in his bio:
"Hi my name is Ali Rasul, I am 12 years old. I live in the North East of England with my uncle Saleem, my brother Shaan and my sisters Neena, Natasha and Esha, who is the youngest.
My uncle Tariq and his wife Dianne got me into dancing when I was five, and since then it’s become my passion in life. Before Billy I was a member of a hip hop crew, which won many awards nationally and internationally; including winning Alicia Dixon’s Street Dance Stars. My hobbies are football, free running and playing on my games console when I get the time.
After many auditions, and lots of training I was finally picked to play the part of Billy Elliot. I was so shocked and excited to have been cast and I would like to thank the house parents, chaperones and my teachers who have helped me to get where I am."
