Analyses your ceiling for screws popping, you will generally see rows of them, they look like small indents in the ceiling, this is where the plasterboard is coming away from the screws / nails. Also, check for cornice cracking, if you see you have cracking, asses it for a couple of weeks, as soon as you start to see it getting worse, get this sorted asap.
