To be honest ı didn’t get too much, ı try to remember my paint style.

When I look back now, “what style of yoga that you want to do, was not something you need to worry about”, was the correct answer. All the styles of yoga are based on Hatha yoga, which originated from the Hindu tradition in ancient India. They are like patriarchs that were personalized by each great yoga guru. During this process, one guru adopted the style of another, handing down its secrets to a new generation. So, we can just choose any branch that fits our lifestyle.

 
I would not be surprised if many more new styles evolve, as we move further into the 21st century. There are no boundaries between those styles. And we should become more liberated. 


That is just a conclusion that I have reached at, after all those years of struggle. “Can I become more liberated?” This is my next task. Freedom is not easy.

今になって思えば「ヨガの流派など悩むべきことではない」は正解だ。全ての流派は、インドのヒンドゥー教徒の修行の一部、‘ハタヨガ’が発祥であり、永きに渡りグルからグルへと受け継がれ、その度にそれぞれの時代のニーズやグルの個性によりアレンジされて伝わってきた門下のようなものだ。だから、わたしたちも自分のニーズにあったスタイルを選べばいいだけだ。


そして、21世紀に入った今、この時代のニーズに合った新しい流派が現れても不思議ではない。それぞれの流派の間に境界線もなく、もっと自由でいいのだ。
これはあくまでも、巡り巡って、わたしが到達した個人的な答えだ。

それが分かった今「じゃあ、自分は自由にやれるのか？」というのが、今後のわたしの課題だ。自由は楽ではない
