Yesterday I closed duolingo for literally a second and when I reopened it there was the new homescreen, which was confusing af in itself, but I was practicing two themes at a time, and I had just started with the one and did a few exercises of the other.
Well, now, with the new homescreen, I am further ahead than I was because it just recognised the theme I had last done that was furthest ahead on the new progress path, which means I lost the opportunity to properly practice those words and sentences, plus it's costing me lots of XP, because while I could practice some, it would only get me 5XP per round, which is just... so little?!
Like, there's reasons I'm using duolingo so I probably won't stop using it, and I'm still a competitive little bitch who wants to keep her streak and gett ahead in the leagues and stuff, plus I only started this language lese than a month ago. But this is putting quite a damper on my current experience and I just wish I had had the option to switch to the new homescreen when I was ready... Like, there was no warning and I bet they didn't even know what issues this might cause. It's a real bummer.
I'm a simple person... I see a pretty picture, I take it as my homescreen 🤷🏼♀️🥰
