Tragedy

One of the most disappointing moments of my life came while I was cooking with some classmates after school.  I was in charge of rinsing the vegetables, and just when I finished rinsing some kidney beans, a girl handed me some more and said "here are some new kidneys."  Taking them from her, I said "New kidneys?  I'm not sure about the color." 

And no one got it.
