Vel’s Private Notes Regarding: Celseer and Celsworn Concerns
Established (privately) as an Active Area of Interest as of 2.26.19.
Disclaimer: In the event of my untimely demise, these are the personal notes of Sun Speaker of Dead Sun Harbor, Velerodra Valesinger. These personal notes will hopefully be of use, but are not official, reflecting only the authors personal findings.
Overview:
Recently a man who calls himself Stol’thet Celseer has lead to tension between Reveria Shadowsun and Raylen D’aerthe. Both are fellow council members.
While the man is entirely unremarkable to me, Raylen has expressed concerns due to the man’s heritage - and ancient Kaldorei feuds that I am far too young to be familiar with. What is known is that according to Stol’thet, the Celseer family was at one point loyal to the Celsworn family, who - according to Raynel, are enemies.
There are further reasons for concerns beyond his heritage. I first met the man in the Pig where he was dancing with Reveria. Such behavior seemed unusual. Reveria has at times been a bit of a flirt, but this struck me as different. She claims he is charming. There is some evidence to support this claim. Recently I have seen an ordinarily very stoic woman, Sevalysae Ravensorrow, blush at his words. Though she denied this for a time, she eventually confessed that it was due to him possessing the properties of being a ‘gentleman’.
Why would charm be a reason for concern? That is an excellent question Vel, I am glad you asked. It would not be - were I able to see it. However, I do not. I am unsure if his charm only appeals to Kaldorei women, and have not yet seen him interact with any others (I doubt it would work on No’vi, she would make an excellent test case). Though, given his desire to work in a brothel, possessing charm (even if it is off-putting to my sensibilities) would be an asset and not unexpected.
However - this leads to a question I cannot find an answer to. Why does he seek a job in Dead Sun Harbor? Eilithe (Arbiter) has informed me that after speaking to her grandmother Endessa, she learned that according to Mr. Celseer - he was not aware that Dead Sun was connected to Duskbringers. Yet, even if he were not originally aware, he is aware now, and seems to persist in seeking employment among those his family once were at odds with.
Another concern, is that he seemed to have been asking the innkeeper about various people around the Harbor. He knew my name before I offered it. I must conclude at the very least he acquired a description of me (granted - being one of fairly few of my kind, I likely am easy to identify with a very minimal description). Something about this does not sit well with me.
Though, I do not like the idea of using someone’s past to define them. I can draw no firm conclusion on this matter, and consider it an area that requires further looking into.
People of Interest:
Stol’thet Celseer: Primary source of tension and suspicion. I would not classify him as a definite threat, but rather a possible threat. As stated - I would be hasty to draw any definite conclusion at this time, further information is needed.
Endessa Duskbringer: Has spoken to the man, may be able to provide context that I currently lack. She is unlikely to be distracted by the man’s apparent charm. Or charm of any sort for that matter (gods know, I’ve tried).
Eilithe Duskbringer: The Arbiter has assured me she will ensure that the tensions between Reveria and Raylen will not result in the sort of ultimatum that Raylen insisted upon. Where either Reveria or Raylen must be chosen. Both are valuable and loyal to the Harbor - and I would prefer both remain. I am unsure if she can shed light on the Celsworn story - but she may be able to.
Le’rassa Dewfall: Captain Dewfall, may also know about the history regarding Celsworn and Celseers, as she grew up with Eilithe.
Raylen D’aerthe: Primary source of distrust towards Thot’let.
Reveria Shadowsun: Primary advocate of Thot’let.
Tressa Harton & Denner O’Brain: Thot’let has been speaking with an innkeeper at the Hanged Man. I would not be surprised if he spoke to bar tender as well. I would be curious to know what they think of him and what he has been asking.
Select Thoughts:
Given other matters currently facing the Harbor this ranks fairly low in priority. Currently most new hires are being swiped up by the fleet, thus, I have few resources in building a proper dossier. For the time being I will put in a request with Reveria to keep an eye out for promising investigators, listeners, observers and others. This is but one of several personal notes that I must write. There are plenty of tasks that will need doing.
Recommended Actions:
-Learn more about the Celsworn history.
-Allow Stol’thet to work in the brothel as he desires, but maintain a list of his clients, and also - keep a tail on him at all times. If his intent is ill, he will not show it unless he believes no one is watching.
-Keep Reveria and Raylen from being at each other’s throat. The greatest threat posed by this man seems to be that he may create discord among the Sun Council. Intentionally or unintentionally.
-Speak to Thol’thet in an attempt to gather unbiased information directly. To be safe, this should be done by a non-Kaldorei female until I have confirmed that not all Kaldorei women find him charming.
Notes to Self:
This section is redundant by it’s very nature as these notes are intended to be for myself. However, I’ve committed to it now.
Vel, reconsider the format of these notes.
Vel, you have about three more notes to write and this may have been the shortest one, perhaps try to work on being less wordy.
Vel, you should really note that Thol’thet -did- save Reveria and her babies from an explosive. Though, this note was sort of long as it was - but - I will rewrite the summary if I need to.
Vel, this section is - redundant and while I admire your attempt to make it work - it’s just silly, if someone every does find this after your death they would laugh at it.
