Many thoughts but they're out of context notes that don't fit into review)#I have been vaguely meaning to read these for years.#I didn’t really vibe with the writing style/humor at first but I got used to it and okay yeah. I get it. they’re good!!!!!!#it’s very fast and action packed/ high stakes while also having a lot of silly fun character moments #(and there’s a lot of characters) … it does that really well i think #great cast of characters with interesting dynamics and like;…..true found family #its also very self indulgent about the characters and world and stuff #(which is a way i describe certain books that are a certain way….which i generally enjoy but i know some people Don’t)#don’t always vibe with this kind of urban fantasy but I thought the concept was very interesting!#I love the way the city is an amalgamation of various lost/destroyed places from around the world #all magically transported into one city.#I will say I don’t ENTIRELY understand the complexities of the courts and magic and politics but i dont feel like i need to lol #I actually really appreciate a romance (?) that’s flirting and affection without expectation.#It reminded me of what I like in a good fic. not overwhelming or the most important thing.#the open communication is refreshing. i am enjoying it aromantically #Obviously as these 3 books go on it gets more serious but it’s still like. not the only important relationship in his life.#there were a *few* little things I was like; eh? about? which I forgot to note down #but I think one was use of schizophrenic as a description in a way that felt... i feel like you could use a different word here-#kind of thing. generally minor wordings rather than significant things #book 1 i was like okay i wish there were more women in here. i know sometimes books just have male MCs so that's inevitable #but yea as the books go on more women side characters. thanks.#also I did end the last book just like:#woag #No idea where it’s going to go from here. I think book 4 is relatively soon?
