UPSR exam papers to be placed immediately in security sacks
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 30, 2014:
Examination question papers will now be immediately placed in security sacks and tied with safety tags before being taken to and organised in vaults, Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh revealed.
The Second Education Minister explained that previously, the procedure would see the exam papers — stored in boxes — being brought into the Malaysian Examination Syndicate’s vaults nationwide, where it would be opened and organised based on the examination schedule.
“The old procedure would see the examination question papers taken out and then placed in the safety sack.
“Now however, the papers would be placed immediately in the sack.
“That is the difference,” he told The Rakyat Post.
The change in procedure comes following Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah examination papers being leaked, which had affected over 470,000 pupils.
Among the papers leaked were English, Science, Mathematics and Tamil.
Students are today re-taking the English and Science papers.
Meanwhile Bernama reported that Idris praised parents who encouraged and prepared the pupils for the re-sit of the UPSR subjects today and on Oct 9.
He said the preparation made by everyone, including the pupils before the actual UPSR exam began on Sept 9, enabled the pupils to always be ready to face the repeat examination.
“Pupils who have made good preparation will be able to answer the questions well because this will reflect what they have learnt and understood since Standard One,” Idris told reporters after observing the UPSR exam at Sekolah Kebangsaan Bangsar, here this morning.
IRS Announces Efforts to Help Citizens Overseas – Including Dual Citizens and Those With Foreign Retirement Plans
On June 26th, 2012, the IRS announced a new effort to help U.S. Citizens overseas – including dual citizens and those with foreign retirement plans to catch up with tax filing obligations and provide assistance for people with foreign retirement issues. “Today we are announcing a series of common-sense steps to help U.S. citizens get current with their tax obligations and resolve pension issues,” said IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman.
This new procedure which has been set in place in order to help some U.S. citizens and others residing abroad who have not filed tax returns and provide them with a chance to catch up on their tax filing obligations if they owe little or no back taxes, will go into effect on September 1, 2012.
