Hump day! It’s been a long week for me already. New jobs are always stressing although o have to say that the people at my new job are a lot less stressed than my old job. At least I think so. I haven’t started to do much myself. I finally got my used name and password and hopefully tomorrow they’ll have me answering the phones and doing some other things. The only problem as I see it is that they tell me that I’m supposed to do certain things certain way but every time I’m sitting with someone different they do something completely different, getting me all confused. I guess I’ll figure out once o start doing my own things. I’m sure they’ll let me know.

Today we got our new refrigerator delivered. Andre was the one who was able to stay at home but had some problems turning the water off and there were some issues with the connecting it to the lines. So now I have 2 refrigerators. They guys said that they’ll pick up the old one once we solve the problem.

Since we had to get a bunch of food out of the old refrigerator, we really didn’t have much for dinner. I wasn’t super hungry but Little Bit wanted to go eat somewhere. We ended up going to Don Jose. Drove David’s car since it has heated seats cause the temperature is super cold tonight.

Getting a new refrigerator is a mess.

Okay, to begin, I have two roommates. Roommate-Wife, and Roommate-Lump. 

Last week, Roommate-Wife’s parents got a new refrigerator for us. It was just delivered. Getting a new refrigerator is a mess. 

I’m not even talking about actually moving the old one out and the new one up the stairs and in. That was its own kind of chaos, but no different than moving any other large piece of furniture. 

Once the refrigerator is moved in and in-place, you can’t plug it in right away. You have to let it sit first. For approximately 2 hours. You want to make sure any gasses that were jostled or stirred up during the move have settled before you plug it in and start it going. 

Then, once its plugged in, you have to leave it empty and just let it run to get cool before you start packing your food back in it. Again, I was recommended two hours for this part too. 

So, that’s four hours that my kitchen is full of coolers and insulated bags full of food stuffs that need to be frozen or refrigerated. Ice is melting, getting water all over my kitchen floor. I can only imagine what’s happening to the food that ice is getting cold. Milk, raw chicken, ice cream...

It took both Wife and I to empty the whole fridge out. Two people to get it done in a reasonable and timely manner. 

Roommate-Wife is now at work and its just me and Roommate-Lump. Lump is not helping. Lump does not cook food. Lump eats instant ramen. She has nothing invested in getting all this food back in the refrigerator before it spoils. Worse than that, she has the chutzpah to complain that the kitchen is a cluttered mess and the floor is wet! I’m sorry. If this bothers you so much, why don’t you help? You great Lump!

Anyway, that’s a rant for another post. If you ever get a new refrigerator, stop buying freezables and fridgeables two weeks before you get the refrigerator. Be prepared for your food stuffs to be sitting out for a minimum of four hours (more likely longer), and plan it so that you have a second person helping you put your kitchen back together.

The new refrigerator was delivered and set up yesterday. They hauled away the old one too. I was a little worried about how they were going to fit it through the front door and how far it might stick out. They managed to do it, and it really doesn’t stick out much more than the old one did. It has a water/ice dispenser. Nice to have filtered water and ice. I don’t think it’s ready yet to dispense the ice. I’ve gotten water from it, though. It has a sensor, so you can just put the glass/mug down and it fills it up on its own. It also indicates how many ounces it is, which could be handy. It does that even if you don’t do the hands free thing. I think it has a bigger freezer area than the one before. So far that’s worked well. We put some chicken in there and it froze pretty quickly. We got a French door one. There’s a big section on the bottom for the freezer (I think that has 2 drawers within it), an in between drawer (you can set the temperature separately, and it even has a thing that’s movable for soda cans), and the ‘French door’ part with 2 side by side doors on top for the refrigerator. It’s going to take a little time to get the refrigerator’s temperature right. It has a kind of hidden shelf in one of the doors for drinks, which is interesting. There are 2 special inside drawers for the vegetables and fruits. It’s kind of cool that we could see those almost at eye level. It was lower and hard to look in with the previous one. I think the lighting is brighter, too. It’s cool overall. With this, I can try cooking again. I might try the My Fitness Pal Meals again. I have more recipes I found on Pinterest, too. Even found some drink ones that use ice. Kind of exciting!

Afterwards we went out to Applebee’s to get a late lunch. I got their new Caramel Dream drink. I wanted to try it last time. It has vanilla ice cream, an ‘espresso mix’, caramel, and topped with whipped cream. Like a caramel and coffee milkshake. It was good, but huge! I got about halfway through it. I got a ‘classic’ cheeseburger without onions. It almost seemed like a smash burger. Tons of lettuce, which I was a little nervous about. Got waffle fries and bbq sauce with it. I love waffle fries! Later, I made a salad from the salad bar at Central for dinner. I think I made it a little too big and couldn’t finish it. It was nice (especially on such a warm day) and I needed more vegetables. I wanted something small for dessert from Central, since I already had that milkshake earlier. I decided on a chocolate chip shortbread cookie. First time trying their shortbread. It was pretty decent. Just enough sweetness for it, too.

Today the person who did the cabinets, might be coming back to start putting up the fence in the backyard. That’s exciting too. They basically took out the greenbelt back there, and put a road and sidewalk in. They tore down the makeshift plastic fence they had put up while they were working on it. Now people can just walk into the backyard. They can see us inside too. It’ll be nice to have a real fence up like that.

I got the results back from the full bone scan last night. It’s basically stable. Barb messaged me saying that it’s stable and to tell them about any new pains. Meanwhile, I still haven’t gotten my next batch of cyclobenzaprine. It’s a muscle relaxant. I have horrible painful cramps without it. It’s not just in my legs either. I really hate the hip ones. My primary care doctor tried calling me on Monday morning at a bad time. (It was also the scan day.) She left a message saying why she was calling and she’d call again at 5pm. 5pm rolled around and I didn’t hear from her. Apparently cyclobenzaprine has to have a prior authorization once a year, and I have to be reminded about the interactions. They can’t sign off on it until that happens. I’ve been without it for a few days. I ordered it as early as I could. I left a message for my primary care doctor on Tuesday, but I still haven’t got anything back. I might try calling the ‘team’ to see what’s going on. I was also worried about the morphine, but I finally got an email last night saying that it was shipped. So, that’s at least coming. I’ll probably have a day or 2 without it. I think it had an extra thing, too. Hopefully the cyclobenzaprine thing will be settled soon. A lot of stuff going on lately.
