Nike Flyknit Racer ‘Tranquil’ Story: So I stumbled upon these shoes by “accident”. I pre-ordered these in January ’15 and forgot all about it. Then, seeing them on Nike’s Launch Calendar in September, I became obsessed. OBSESSED. Mint green Flyknit with a royal blue/white midsole = heaven! Then, as the October 9, 2015 release date was approaching, they miraculously appeared in my office about a week before! Now there’s fresh. And there’s early. But fresh AND early! That’s an undisputable, undefeated combination. Well maybe not undefeated…..if you can get your hands on an unreleased pair of sneakers, you could basically retire for a year. At any rate, the first thing I do à hit Snapchat. Instant KOTNight! So my Hypebeast Followers and Runner Friends KNOW that I’m F&E. I mean, fashion is my sport! I don’t even want to wear these yet. Gotta save for the appropriate moment. The goal is to rock these before they release, so that the world realizes how F&E I am. I fail….. Then this little event called the New York City Marathon appears on my professional/social radar. Gonna be around a ton of runners. Scratch that…..a ton of STYLISH runners. People who work for Nike. People affiliated with Nike. People who know me to be on the cutting edge side of this athletic fashion thing of ours. Can’t let the family down!What’s the newest, freshest running shoe I have: Nike Flyknit Racer ‘Tranquil’. And although I definitely wasn’t early, I most certainly wasn’t late. And when paired with the Nike Gyakusou pants I was wearing, I could rest assured that my reputation for being “all of the above” would not be tarnished.
