Madrigal Cool Kids with Dogs and Cats

For Isabela's pup counterpart I chose a Peruvian Inca Orchid dog. They're a rare breed, but I feel they fit her personality quite well. vetstreet.com said this about the breed: 'A Peruvian Inca Orchid has a reserved and cautious temperament, although he should not be timid. He takes his time studying guests before deciding whether to accept them and dislikes having strangers touch him.' However, thesprucepets.com added this about the breed: 'What they tend to lack in fur however, Peruvian Inca Orchids make up for in personality. They’re affectionate, adaptable, and athletic, and make lively and interesting pets', which solidified my decision.

For her cat counterpart I had to make her a Siamese. My decision was mostly based off dailypaws.com stating that 'The Siamese cat's personality is friendly, affectionate, outgoing, and social. This beautiful breed is also one of the most intelligent around. The Siamese is loving and trusting with humans, and he thrives with lots of positive human interaction. He's also deeply sensitive and will take any harsh words to heart.'

I already had Luisa's breed in mind before I made this series (and actually what inspired it): this girl is 100000000% a Newfoundland dog. They're both just such sweet gentle giants I love them. dogtime.com said this about my favourite breed: 'The Newfoundland is known for his sweet disposition. He's like a big, loveable Teddy Bear. He loves children, is intelligent, and aims to please. He's happiest when he is with his family, and should not be left alone for long periods of time or be banished to the backyard or a kennel.'

For her cat counterpart, I couldn't find any that fit as well as the newfie, but the Maine Coon is the gentle giant of the cat world so I went with that. lifetimepetcover.com states that 'Maine Coon cats are gentle natured and friendly, which makes them great companions for cat owners. They're often playful and curious and remain kitten-like throughout their lives, even as older cats, which makes them an endless source of entertainment.'

Mirabel has to be a Jack Russel Terrier - it just fits her so well. dogtime.com stated that 'The energetic and spirited Jack packs a lot of personality into his small body. Loving, devoted, and endlessly amusing, he enjoys life and all it has to offer. Given half a chance, he'll pursue his delights over fences and through the streets.' Tell me that isn't Mirabel.

For her cat counterpart, I went with the Abyssinian. My decision for this was purely based on hillspet.co.uks description of the breed, stating 'While an active cat, the Abyssinian is an easy cat to have in your home. They love people and other animals. They will play with their own toys for hours but also enjoy a good period of time of interactive play with their parents. They will talk to you in a soft, quiet voice. The Abyssinian is loving and affectionate, and loves to spend time with their parents.'
