I just finished Descendants 5 and one thing i am SURE of is that Luis Madrigal’s father is Maui from Moana.
Everyone said his enhanced strength made no sense since that’s not how magic in the Madrigal family works, but very few considered the fact that the magic was GONE at the end of the movie. Which implies that rather than Luisa having strength, his father does.
Luis in “Did You Hear About Them” says he has a tattoo of one of his adventures— which then proceeds to move just like Maui’s do.
In the same song, he sings about his exploits alongside Hazel Hook. What does that remind you of?
Furthermore, he tells Red when he saves her in the mad house “I’m partial to gracias, but I accept thank you”.
HE WAS LITERALLY TRYING TO GET HER TO THANK HIM SO HE COULD SAY YOU’RE WELCOME.
Also, this is more of a reach, but on his suit jacket at the end of the movie during the tea party, there’s what looks like a sun stitched into it. But looking at his original costume, it’s more likely to be a smaller version of the Madrigal candle.

OK SO I WAS GETTING INTO ENCANTO AGAIN
And idk if I’m overthinking this but I noticed Alma seems to have diff expectations for each of her grandchildren depending on which parent they came from HEAR ME OUT
So with how Alma treats Pepa I imagine she’s always telling her to “control herself” or remind her abt her clouds and etc
that makes me wonder that Alma doesnt favor Pepa as much as Julieta since Pepa’s gift seems so “destructive”
Julieta meanwhile seemingly has the most “useful” gift (at least objectively) because yk.. SHE HEALS PEOPLE WITH FOOD (imo thats an eternal youth fountain right there I’d say unless it has limits)
so I feel like Alma associates Julieta’s kids with that same expectation to contribute to the family
Luisa is literally the strongest and always helping around
Isabella is the oldest and the poster child of the next generation (community muse?)
hence why Mirabel not getting a gift feels so huge because Mirabel is not living up to her Mother’s reputation
I also noticed that with Pepa’s kids Alma doesnt seem to put as much pressure on them because they seemingly have the most “useless” gifts (not saying theyre actually useless tho)
Dolores just has super hearing
Camilo can shapeshift
And Antonio can speak to animals
While those skills can help around the community
I think thanks to them being Pepa’s kids it led to Alma subconsciously not paying that much attention to them since she doesnt associate Pepa with as much importance as Julieta
Julieta was definitley the favorite triplet lets be fr 💀
If theres an AU where Pepa and Bruno switched story roles- I’d say nothing would be super different
IS IT JUST ME WHO NOTICED THIS GUYS BECAUSW IM WONDERING IF IM LOOKING TOO MUCH INTO IT
has this been done yet
