So I have seen and heard a lot of Conchita Wurst hate lately...
(basically translates as "Turn Around, we have made a terrible mistake")
Then I looked at the comments of the YouTube video...
I'll just leave this here...
And this comment was really bad:
Basically translates as: "Conchita Wurst you *insert insult here*, go dying! Being gay and transsexual is bad enough! But winning the ESC and being a role model for children, that's not acceptable! Go dying you animal!"
And then I found this on Tumblr:
well... no comment as well.
This makes me sick! All of this makes me so sick! I don't understand why you hate HER so much. There are many men who identify as womem, and that is okay. Dressing up as a woman is okay. Dressing up as a woman while having a beard is not okay?!?! It is perfectly okay!
If you don't know how to explain it to your children, just tell them the truth! Tell them, he likes to dress up as a woman. I doubt that your children will be traumatised because they have seen a person with a dress and a beard. Children like to dress up as well. I can remember my brother running around in our mother's shoes, and he is not gay today!
Conchita is not disgusting or shameful, she is a human, just as you and me. People who are reffering to her as an "it"... Why?!
I had an argument with a friend, she reffered to her as it, and I asked her why. But she couldn't really explain. Just because Conchita was born as a man, but now sees herself as a woman, doesn't mean she is an it.
Of course it is okay to have your own opinion. Of course it is okay to not like her music, her voice, her whatever. But you could try to accept it. You don't have to listen to her music, you don't have to see her (if the sight of her makes you sick, what I don't understand, really..)
But it is not okay to hate her, to wish her death, to say that we need a second flood!
Why is loving the same gender a sin? Why is dressing up as a woman wrong? It is not wrong! Already men in Shakespeare's time were dressing up as women (okay thay had no choice, but still).
And seriously, I think this
Just look at her smily, she's beautiful!
I just see a pretty, selfconfident woman on this picture!
And then I found this quote from Cher on Tumblr:
I have nothing to add to this.
