Reducing the art of Hiyao Miyazaki to a “vibe” and “aesthetic” pointedly ignores the very political anti war themes present in his work. 

I mean ffs one of the trademarks of his art is a balanced relationship with nature and the earth. It’s not just about the stunning nature backgrounds and visuals. There’s a message and a reason! And genAI NOTABLY uses a shit ton of resources and water to generate one image!!!! What the fuck!!! 

And all it produces is some soulless rendition that strips the original meaning of the work.
