Reading habits
I was tagged by @sarahjanereads (thanks!)
Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
No; I tend to read wherever it’s convenient at that moment. I usually read in my bed, on the couch, or in the kitchen.
Bookmark or random piece of paper?
Either random pieces of paper or a gentle dog-earing of the pages. I like the way books look when they have lots of pages marked :D
Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/a certain amount of pages?
I usually stop when a chapter finishes, or when a paragraph ends at the end of a page so that I can bookmark the next page without looking at it (otherwise I would end up reading it as well).
Do you eat or drink while reading?
Sometimes, but I can usually concentrate better if I’m not also eating something.
Music or TV while reading?
Preferably neither, so that I can focus. Sometimes instrumental music is a nice background noice, though.
Reading at home or everywhere?
Usually at home, but whenever I go on a day trip somewhere I like to bring the book I’m reading even if I probably won’t read it.
Reading out loud or silently in your head?
Always in my head, so that I can read faster.
Do you read ahead or even skip pages?
Nope – unless it’s nonfiction and there’s a particularly boring chapter going on..
Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?
Keeping it like new until it inevitably breaks
Do you write in your books?
I usually underline or highlight stuff, but occasionally I also write something in the margins (though this rarely happens with fiction)

Unhauling books
Something that comes up relatively frequently in the book community is the idea of purging shelves of books that you didn’t like, have no interest in or just won’t re-read again. I love watching book unhauls on YouTube because they’re such an extremely intriguing video to watch. I find it fascinating to see the books that people are getting rid of and to hear the reasons as to why they’re ridding…

The magical, mystical depths of a book… the soft, subtle scent that reminds us fondly of the books we’ve devoured and loved…
The view from my bed is undeniably divine if I do say so myself. I love waking up and seeing my bookshelves - it always makes me so happy. ☺ I love being able to look over at them and imagine how many adventures await me upon these shelves… so magical!
I spent the other day in uni's cafe reading The Sun is Also a Star... such a beautiful way to spend the day! ✨
